    Feedback Loops and Tipping Points

Pickup has two feedback loops, confidence and social proof. Both of them work essentially the same; more confidence means more successful openers which means more confidence (etc). Likewise, more social proof = more successful openers = more confidence and social proof. The effects of this can be huge.

But feedback loops can also work in reverse. If you've got poor social proof, and lack confidence, you may find it hard to break out of that vicious cycle. Luckily, we start new every night, so these cycles are easy to break. Sometimes it's something as simple as breaking a bad leaning habit, or buying some new clothes to break the cycle. Essentially, setting up a positive feedback loop is the goal of the Newbie Mission. Once you get into that positive feedback loop, gong out is the most fun thing around.

    Peace out!
