I'm curious to go to a meetup event to meet more people and possibly some cute female friends but I'm a little worried everyone there is gonna be socially awkward. Anyone ever tried going to one and can share their experience?

I've found that the male to female ratios are as good as you are going to get. Most women on Meet Up are single and looking.

I really like the idea. This is I'm going to experiment with this type of stuff.

I signed up and haven't had the time to really invest yet, but everyone I've talked to (even friends who aren't single) have had really positive experiences with the groups there. I'm definitely going to check it out when I have more time.

I've used it on and off for a few years. Great way to expand your circle and meet new women. Just be careful about using it as a "numbers game"...one group I was in (I think it was for young professionals), the moderator sent out a message because people were using it to hit on others, and she stressed that it was simply a casual group for networking.

What types of groups should I look to join if I want to meet some real hot women?

As a photographer, I am in a lot of photography meetup groups which host (want to be “models”) so I meet hot women that way. I get numbers easily, I just have no game afterwards. I recently started joining more meetups such as; 20’s and 30’s (location), Young Professionals of (location), and others that I'm able to network with people. I think the best bet is to focus on finding meetups that you enjoy doing since it’ll be easier to mingle with the women when you share something in common. I guess I would say that the fitness group meetups have the hottest women though.

I'm going to start using meetup.com after I graduate in June and I have more free time. I need to build a social circle.
