How to be a good promoter/Promoter Game

    Hey guys,

I just got a gig as a promoter. I had my first night last week, met everyone, did odd jobs, etc. However, as I'm doing this weekly, I kind of need some advice from current promoters.

    1) How to promote before the club - How do you go about building your clientele? Do you do a lot of cold approaches? Do you mine through your facebook/rolodex? I know getting friends to come to the club is a must, but I do this every week - it don't want to turn into "the promoter guy" and be seen as constantly bugging them to come to the club. In short, what is your hustle?

    2) How to promote at the club - A lot of the promoters I met on my first night were genuinely outgoing, loud, aggressive, and high energy people. They just seemed so comfortable at the club. How do I get into that state? I don't want to be lower energy than them for fear of hurting the overall vibe of the promoting team. At the same time, they knew how to mingle well with the crowd. What are some tips for that?

    3) How to game as a promoter - I have to admit that the major reason I wanted to get into promoting was to be better with girls at clubs. However, I don't want to be running routines or canned openers on them for fear of creeping them out and thus ruining the promoting team's image. How should I go about opening sets at clubs while being a promoter? I was thinking of using Asian Playboy's Cheers routine and just going up to groups and cheers-ing them.

    1) Friends, friends friends! Be in touch with everyone you know, and spread the word that you are selling tickets/promoting weekly nights/etc. Also, get in the habit of using social media and creating a strong online identity and an influential presence online - have all your Facebook, MySpace, and other sites of that sort tweaked out to the max and operating at their peak.

    2) At the club, you are right... you must be high energy, otherwise people will get bored with you quickly. I would start by talking to people on the street first, and once you get into your chatter mood, only then advance to talking with people inside the club.

    3) Gaming is not something you should get busted doing, but you should certainly talk with women and display high value when you do so. I wouldn't even use ANY canned openers or routines - I would only use situational openers and just do a lot of 'freestyle' talking. You can usually start meeting new girls when you are already chatting up a group of people that you know there, and then move on to opening new girls (and guys) who are in proximity to you and your group. Keep the convos pointless, but on topic with the theme(s) of the night, the relevant event(s) that you are promoting and/or which are happening, and music/DJs/favorite artists/etc.
