    Why are dimples so attractive?

I have a single dimple on my right cheek which im glad i have ...girls always compliment it...i hear other people tellling me that girls say i look really "cute". But what makes them so attractive to females? 2 of my ex gfs loved 'em.

  2. Because they say it in the movies

I also have dimples, but two not a single one .... It is actually a defect in us believe it or not.

Alot of girls think its "sexy" and for what reason I am unsure of.. I may be to old for some of you people but do any of you all remember " Saved by the bell" I think it was on nbc like in the mid 90's or something anyhow there was a dude A.C. Slater and girls loved him because of the dimples and of course his muscles... Just mess with the girls about em. When they say oh u have dimples I joke around and tell them "oh those, My cheeks were so fat I had to get Lipo and these are the scars from that.."

But when a HB has them I usually tell them to smile and just say oh my God you have a defect too! and then show yours!! Girls with them love it!! But I do love a girl with dimples!!

Its a defect, a vulnerability. It drops your threat level. Your evolved to always believe your not perfect so you have the push to improve on yourself, and humans are attracted to people similar to them so they can work together to improve (twice as fast) -- If you have dimples it shows you have vulnerabilities also.

I think this is low on the "attraction pyramid", if the defect affects anything higher like your health or your ability to provide obviously its going to be unattractive.

And television does not tell us what to be attracted to, it enforces social norms.

yea, i mean i know girls think dimples are cute, but not all of them. some girls like tall guys or blondes or w\e. just another preference. id say since its a recessive trait its cute cuz its more rare. and to agree with JSobczak, the media has definitely reinforced girls' attraction to specific things like dimples.

As far as I can remember girls always comment on dimples. they think they are as you all already named multiple times cute. I have been told they are of course "cute, adorable, sexy" etc etc.... Alot of ppl say they would like for their children to have dimples as also mentioned they are rare...

Also I dont ever recall girls saying it shows weakness or anything but just attractive I mean I dont really remember seeing unattractive females with them lol.

lol Completely went over your head. My whole post was explaining why there attractive.

"awwwwww Hes in a wheelchair (defect)"

    IS the same 'aw' as

    "awwwwww He has dimples (defect)"

They both are "cute", but having dimples obviously has a much better chance of being attractive because it doesn't demonstrate bad health or anything else higher in the attraction pyramid as does the defect of being in a wheelchair. But still shows your vulnerable.

My fault bro. Half way caught it all at first. Haven't had much sleep here lately so my mind is not working properly.......

I would not say it was unattractive. It is a defect, although it is not one that hinders your ability to survive and so it is unlikly that females would find it undesirable...

However as they are rare it does count almost as an 'interesting item', something she can comment on if she is interested.
