  1. Psychology of a Players/Pornstars?

My curiosity always gets the best of me... I've been indulging in my intellectual pursuit of knowledge concerning sex and psychology and wanted to get info/opinions on the topic of the mindset of people who have sex either as a lifestyle. I've always wondered about this question, do these people have normal childhoods/upbringing or is there some negative in their life that strays them along the path of sex as a career choice/lifestyle. I'll be honest; in that I didn't have the greatest childhood growing up. I had no father, an abusive grandmother (lol if you can believe it), and an insecure mother who had children from 3 guys who all left her after she had their kids. I was also bullied a lot in school and am just now actually building my social skill muscles (lol) but I was wondering whether this warrants a "bad childhood" (don't we all have bad childhoods lol) and whether there are a lot of people who have a lifestyle based on sex with "bad childhoods"? I appreciate any opinions on the topic and anecdotal stories of childhood experiences that can shed light on the mindset of people with a sexual lifestyle?

I honestly want this to be as objective as possible without any preconceived judgments on either end (e.g. porn stars are born sluts or Pua's are just following natural desires...) but I know that is a hard thing to do...especially on the internet. I'm by no means saying that the pua is a "bad thing" or that pornography is wrong (or a sin). I'm just wondering as to what caused porn stars/pua's to choose a lifestyle of sex(besides the fact that it feels great lol) that is far from the normal AFC standard (for both men and women)? Is it even fare to even have a double standard when it comes to motives towards this lifestyle(it's our biological prerogative but women were "meant" to be choosy)? Anyways thoughts welcomes

^^ its true. However the deciding factor will be the meaning that they attach to the events in their respective lives as opposed to the events themselves.

I don't know how you lump community guys in with porn stars, but for the sake of discussion:

People who end up in sex work (prostitutes, strippers, porn actors) are more likely to have had shitty parents and bad childhoods than successful people with normal jobs.

Community guys tend to be cerebral types who haven't been successful with women. There's no correlation I've seen between the background of a hooker and the background of the typical guy on a bootcamp.

That said, you are still responsible for what you decide to do with yourself. Shitty parents isn't an excuse to go start doing gay porn or something.

  5. lmao... no need to get offended. I'm simply asking out of curiosity and NOT from a moral standpoint, so ease up... I guess the reason why I clump together porn stars and pua's is that I was curious about both childhoods of porn stars and pua's and decided to group them together instead of making 2 seperate threads on the issue. I was just wondering whether people in the community/porn stars have had tough lives because I feel like I have and I've read about other pua's who have had difficult lives as well. I also was wondering whether porn stars actually have "rough" lives as well because I've seen a story about a girl becoming a nurse/doctor but instead she opted for a porn career because she enjoyed it (and had a no childhood problems). I'm simply curious about the histories of both pua's and pornstars and I'm not so much focused on whether there is similarities and/or contrasts, that's all. I'm not saying there IS a correlation or putting our lives on par with a porn stars life (even though I don't see why it would be a bad thing... there people too, just ones with different career paths...) I'm simply just curious. But there are some (few) people out there that probably use PUA material for the sole reason of objectification of the opposite sex (for validatoin/insecurity) and base their WHOLE lives around sex, as a lifestyle, and that MIGHT be a parallel between a pornstar choosing a lifestyle of sex (objectification of her body). Of course there are a lot of great people who use pua material for good as well as a few porn stars that have nothing wrong with them and there probably isn't that much parallel between them; I simply asked the childhood question on both parties because I was interested and, again, didn't want to make 2 threads about it...that's all. I said at the beginning of the post I would like try to have this topic free from preconceived judgments so hopefully I have clarified any preconceived judgments people might have got from my previous post/questions.

You seem to have picked up some yourself, because I do not see anyone offended yet.

There are guys here, who were never really good with women and needed some improvements (like me), there are guys, who were decently successful already, but still wanted to get better, also there seem to be guys who were excellent even without help of any materials, but they are here and help out others.

Childhood? Who cares? Are you gonna live in the past or what? And mine wasn't exactly all colorful to say the least.

That's a good Neil Strauss question.

If you were to profile the first 18 years of Obama's life, he prob. would fit in with some community members...came from a single mom, raised by grandparents, friendly, personable, did well with women.

When it comes to porn stars, there is no commonality. Some girls are sex addicts. Some girls had player boyfriends that are driven by money and basically pimped their girlfriend out into being into porn or prostitution. Runaway girls, mostly. And some of them just became bored and were looking for excitement. Parents did nothing wrong, maybe didn't pay enough attention to them.

Most girls have had a sexual assault happen to them (this can range from fondling to worst case situation), but that's usually not what led to porn.

I have had a fair amount of expereince with strippers in the last 2 years and I can tell you that this is true at least 9 out of 10 times if not more. It is rare that i meet dancers who have not exeprienced some form of sexual abuse.
