    How to respond?

How to respond to a girl when she flakes? I have known this girl for awhile. We met through soccer at our UNI (we both played for the school) but I never really talked to her. Anyway we started talking and I made her laugh and what not. I asked her to meet up for some subway and go to a park by my house. She said she was down.

Now the day before she text me saying she has to rain check, cuz of a group project and her group member are forcing a meeting tomorrow at the time we were supposed to meet.

This was an hour ago. How do I respond to this? Reschedule? When do I text back?

Whatever you do...just respond like it's no big deal. Make it seems like you'll either go with someone else or you'll do something else.

Yea man, in this situation, Idk if I'd really consider her a flake even. Her reason sounds detailed enough where it would be fairly difficult to make up. Also consider the fact this is the first time you're supposed to hang out, I'd take her word at face value. Like flybye said, just say a rain check is fine and don't act pissy about it. "Way to be a total nerd. Rain check it is, bookworm," something like that.

Don't call her, just text back an "Okay". Wait for her to text you again.

    So I just replied with:

Me: It's cool, let me know when you want to reschedule.

    Her: okie dokie :P

So from here I just wait for her to let me know yeah?

Generally yes you might want to wait for her to re-initiate but like Johnny said...it's not really a flake. She told you the day before and it sounds like a reasonable explanation. Give it 2-3 days and re-open her.
