Finished reading this book the other day.

Aside from The Game , )which lead me to the community) This is the best book I have ever read in my life.

I found it somewhat of a challenging read and had to re read several sections.

Not only do I see a HUGE difference in my train of thought and inner happiness. Others have been asking me what the hell is going on with me lol.

The best lesson I was able to take from this book was the ability to notice when my mind was not working in my favor and thus being able to instanly correct it

    Two thumbs up

This book "the power of now " and the one that followed it "A new earth " are both incredible. You have to read them in order. Life is much better now, I still love game. Stopped me from complaining, anxiety slowed, cleared my mind. You will let go of your worried mind by reading this book. You will loose your miserable ego(painbody). I liked the audio books. I rarely chime in on these posts, but this one I just had too.

If you like I, are lazy, I would recommend reading "Practicing the Power of Now " by the same author, which is a more condensed version and focuses more on the practical applications of Tolle's ideas on the subject.

I practice the things learned from the book, though it will take some time for me still to get it down, but it's really powerful stuff that I feel has changed my life already (in the good way).

For me the main points derived from the book are to live in the present, allow yourself to feel the world around you, be honest with yourself about both positive and negative things in life and in the process downsizing (or killing) your ego and letting self esteem based on your true self take its place.

I think this book is overrated. Sure it helps. I listened to "Practicing the Power of Now ", and it helped me for a day or two, but you can't run away from your problems. They eventually catch up to you, no matter how present you are.

This stuff takes practice, stay on it. If your past caught up with you, then you aren't being present. Be the watcher of your mind and get good at it, you will diffuse that negative part of your brain (painbody).

I liked the book. I am not a spiritual or religious person at all though so I really didn't like that part of it. But there is a lot of good stuff in it. Definitely a worth while read. Had to filter out the stuff that I don't believe in though.

I have the audio cd coming tomorrow. I had the same experience from reading, "awaken the giant within " by Anthony Robbins. I went on vaca, attracted quite a few women, built rapport, & closed the show. One of which was everything I could ever want in a girl. A def keeper. What I like about A.R. is that, he tells you that, not everything you take from his material may work with you. Use what works and discard what doesn't. I've also found Dan Millman great. My buddy's gf bought him "A new Earth " by Eckart Tolle. I've listened to it and found it great. I've checked Braddock 's write up on Inner game . Self concept books, read "Unlimited Power " by A.R. again & I am on the Phenix Seminar - "Psychology of Achievement " by Brian Tracy. WOmen aren't the goal, self improvement is the goal. I want to gravitate quality women, become a better man financially, physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and in all ways of life. Eck can help me become free of ego. When i get out to chop/sarge girls my ego takes over:

    FRAME:

    1) I'M THE FUCKING MAN; BITCHES LOVE MY HAIR CUT!!!!

    2) WOMEN LOVE ME; EVERYTHING THEY DO IS AN IOI(S)

    3) NO OUTCOME MATTERS - IF THEY DON'T? FUCKING SKANKS - NEXT SET (REPEAT - 1 2 3)

The paradox lies in taking something like "The Power of Now ," when Eck is against ego and yet, using ego to enter WITH THE RIGHT FRAME/state of mind. The difference is that, I am aware of ego, the gains, the loss, the consequences, and the underlying point that the ego is never fulfilled.

    Default Tolle is Good

I'm half way though Tolles second book, A New Earth , amazing concepts. (Never read Power of Now) If you follow most of them you will become a much more enlightened person. But becareful if you are a creative artist, most great comedians do use the "pain bosy" if we use Tolles vacab to draw from to make comedy, as do great poets artists. How good would Pet Sounds have been if Brian Wilson was not such a tortured soul . Use Tolle's concepts but not at the expense of your creative muse. Again use what is USEFUL from TOlle but dont let it emerse your life. You arent going to be having that many girl friends if your up on the Tibetan Hills Medidating.

I met him...he stayed at my parents house a long time ago (they are good friends) when I was young. He is a cool guy, very normal. I remmember having a conversation about baseball with him. I hadnt really given him a chance despite my mother wanting me to read "Power of Now." Im glad I found out about the seduction community which reccomended his book because if I hadn't I dont think I would have given his book which has helped me in so many ways a chance at all
