I rather have a penthouse in a luxury building with the most bars in a 1 mile area in all of the us (ha how's that for a qualification). Perfect for SNL's
Yea, its just ridiculous; the prices down here in NYC. I went back home for the 4th of July, went to the bar and it was like $3 a beer. I literally LOL'ed...forgot how cheap it was. Some places here charge $10 for a bud! Yea, could only imagine how much it would cost to live.

I'll probably end up moving to Hoboken sometime around March. Havent really experienced it yet but will get a small taste of it on Wednesday (with an actual review/report).

Do you plan on going into the NYC on the weekend or just dominating Hoboken? SNL? Hmmm...never really done that. I could see logistics getting in the way ALOT, but from what I hear, Hoboken is a college/party town so everyone from the area making it a lot easier

I drink kettle 1 on the rocks and it is 15 a drink + tip here. I always love how when I goto places like philly or cleveland it is like 6 dollars. It is almost like I am so desensitized to being robbed I never even flinch.

That's cool Hoboken is a great place. I will do a mix of NYC and Hoboken. Logistics will not get in the way because my place is huge and I will be throwing sick afterparties. In fact pulling from hoboken is cake I have a friend who does it all the time. Not to mention there are more bars to bounce around and drinks are cheaper.

    15+ yea...its insane.

I'm assuming Hobken is where kids who just graduated from college move to...to either work in NYC or in Jersey? I seem to get that impression. I love Manhattan on the weekends (Gansevoort, 230 5th, etc.).

I'm not a big fan of dive bars on the weekends. I LOVE the rooftop bars. I like to drink but not to the point where I'm drunk or hammered. I like to get loose. I've noticed its so hard to game when everyone is friggen hammered...its not even fun anymore. Lets hope that Hoboken isnt like that lol

Yea I like rooftops too. Huge fan, unfortunately that is only around in the summer. As far as getting hammered well I drink alot and it does hurt my gaming but i still do ok. We will see how it all pans out, much like everything else in my life I am sure this will be success.

Na I am pretty healthy although right now I am not working out. I will start that again once I move cause there is a gym in my building.

I feel in NJ is tough compared to the other states, but thats because we're just assholes in general

I just stumbled upon this thread. I've lived in NJ all my life and in Hoboken for a year a couple years ago. I've been hitting Jersey bars since I was 18. Fader, you're moving in just in time because compared to the rest of the year, Hoboken is a lot weaker in the summer You'll be catching the tail end of it. All the hottest girls go to the Jersey Shore in the summer on weekends.

The best thing about Hoboken is if one place sucks, you can walk to the next. And I've seen just about every place have its off nights so its good to have options. Here are some places I go to:

Lana Lounge: Hit or miss but usually a fun place. They always have some hip hop going. Drinks are about $7 a beer. Crowd is a mix between slightly ghetto and guido. Cover is between $10 and $20. They always change it. Thats my biggest gripe.

Black Bear: More miss than hit but worth poking your head into. Its more of a bar so you don't have to get all dressed up but you won't find super hot girls here.

Bahama Mamas: Very young and college'y . Always a bachelorette pary going on. Alot of of out of town jersey people so the targets are easier but generally younger. This is where you'll find Indian girls from Stevens Tech. I always have fun there.

Madisons: Nice looking girls, no real dance floor. A little older but no cover charge. I like it. I remember going there on Thursdays 8-midnite. Best place for Thursdays when I lived there.

City Bistro: Cool place to start the night. They have a rooftop bar so its a nice place to drink in the summer. I've only been there a couple times so I can't speak to the consistent quality of the HB's. I did see a few nice ones the times I went though.

For Live music and different crowd:
Maxwells: When there is good band, this place is great. It's a different crowd. Rocker chicks, very friendly. Easiest place to open.

Very close by in Jersey City is SandBar. The place is very big, has outdoor drinking, dance area and probably the hottest girls in North Jersey in the summer. Every in North Jersey should check it out at least once.

These may not be the best places. I'm not into the high scale lounges which just aren't as fun to me. But if you don't know Hoboken and are looking for a few places, check these out. They are however MUCH better after summer is over. If you don't live in Hoboken , take the ride down the shore.

I'd love to hear where some of you other guys go in Hoboken and what you like about the places.
