how do you feel when your girlfriend saying Te Quiero Mucho

    Hey all,

So I've been dating my girlfriend for 7 months now and we finally made it official I think. I explained to her how much I was in love with her a couple weeks ago and told her I love her. Now I'm African American and my girlfriend is from the Dominican Republic. She doesn't say I love you often she would say Te Quiero Mucho which can mean many different things apparently such as... I want you, I love you a lot and etc. I don't know if anyone else is in the same boat but it's a bit misleading and I don't know if I should bring it up to her or not. I feel like I should but I know it's a cultural barrier between us and I don't use those words. Is it something I can get used? Not sure If I want to. What's your take on this?

    D

Te quiero mucho You say that to siblings, friends, parents, etc

Is something like "I am fond of you"

Te amo is the real and most accurate translation of I love you, is more for ltr, marriages, more commuted couples

Suffering is something useless nobody will thank you for

Well, I once dated a Hispanic girl who told me "te quiero". When she said it she got mad/hurt because I didn't say it back. To her it meant "I love you". But I didin't think much of it becasue to me "te quiero" means I like you. Not I love you. Im Puerto Rican and she was Colombian. So I guess it depends.
