Carbeau 1 on 1 – New York, January 2010

I did 2 days last week of 1-on-1 coaching with Carbeau in New York and all I can say is WOW!

Firstly, Carbeau is an extremist when it comes to getting you taken care of. Even before I arrived in New York, Carbeau had emailed me to get detailed information about my background and goals then followed up with a telephone call to clarify what kind of guy I was and what my goals were and gave advice on what he recommended we should focus on during our time together.

I had told him about my approach anxiety and how I feared getting kicked out of clubs and much more, so he told me he wanted to break this once and for all by pushing me out of my comfort zone and gave me some ‘risky’ openers (like Savoy ’s secretary opener) to memorize before I arrived. He also worked on some attraction stories for me to transition into after opening so that I wouldn’t fear what to say next.

I told him that I have a soft voice and have trouble being heard in loud clubs, so he recommended trying Day Game with me since my voice wouldn’t be an issue here and it would also give me a wider skillset for everyday situations when I meet girls outside of clubs. We agreed to break the 2 days into 4 parts: 2 x 4 hours of Day Game and 2 x 4 hours of Night Game.

When we met, Carbeau made recommendations on my look – he took me to buy clothes to soften my appearance, booked me into a hair salon and also recommended I remove my glasses. It amazed me how much of a difference this made – in fact since returning home, so many people have complimented me on my new look, it is awesome.

In field, Carbeau explained to me the theory behind the Emotional Progression Model and explained how to apply this in set, then we practiced on each other until he felt I was ready to go into set. He then helped me make adjustments and kept sending me back into set until I got it. The changes that I had made were remarkable. Carbeau was also really good about forcing me to go in and stay in set and making good use of all the time together.

He kept stressing to me the importance of having a dominant presence when in set – he realized that as one of my biggest issues was that I was being too ‘nice’ in set and that I needed to demonstrate my value through my body language first and foremost. I saw this on the first night when Carbeau effortlessly controlled a 3-set on his own after opening with Savoy ’s secretary opener. Then, during the second night of night game, after I opened a really sweet 3-set, one of the girls pulled me aside and said “don’t let your friend’s confidence intimidate you” – that’s when I really realized how quickly women pick up on it and how incredibly attractive they find it.

Coming back to Chicago is amazing - Carbeau has also given me follow-up instructions so that I keep the momentum and keep improving – and he emails me regularly to check in on my progress. I have already seen the benefits - it is now so easy for me to get the results that I want. In my first week back, not only have people been noticing me more and complimenting me on my look, but I have already arranged three different dates for the first three days of next week!
