Howdy, my name is Canaima.
Howdy from Maui
Originally from South Carolina, now I live a semi-nomadic life that has taken me through half the US in the past 3 months and I am settling in Maui for 2-3 months October 12th. Not really sure what area yet, recommendations are welcome. While I'm there I have only two goals. Get better at surfing, get better at pick up.
Little bit about me. I have been kind of a lazy practioner of pick up for about 4 years. Started by reading DYD and watching the seminars...then I read The Game, and right now I am reading Mystery's Method. I've gotten decent at understanding the process and the involved psychology, but my practice has been limited to what I can learn from the girls that fall into my lap (sometimes literally) because I am still too scared to approach people I don't know.
This is ironic because my last job was in public speaking (ghost tours) which I am pretty good at.
My nomadic life started when a relationship I had turned sour. I had thought this girl was the fabled "one" and because I was unwilling to lose her (and had no other options since I did no approaching), I engaged in a lot of behaviors that were basically DLVs even though I knew better.
I am tired of this happening, girls come along and as long as I don't have to open them, I am able to attract them, but since cool girls crossing my path is a random and sometimes rare occurance, I end up eventually getting needy and disregarding the knowledge I have, and of course, this pushes them away.
So now that I am settling down for a few months, I am determined to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to fix this. Money is not abundant right now, but I will be putting some away slowly so I can take a boot camp if I have to...but hopefully I can meet some cool guys who are willing to take me under their wing and get me past some of the problems they have already successfully overcome.
So if you know of PUAs in Maui, or just want to give some encouragement, PM me. I have been a lurker in this community far too long, its time I became an active member.
