Hey guys! As my name implies, I'm a Canadian but I've just recently moved to Oklahoma.
Stranger in a Strange Land
I first heard about all this stuff back in 2005 when a friend of mine had some DVDs. It seemed to make sense to me, but it was also pretty cheeseball lines and stuff and I wanted nothing to do with it because I was sure it wasn't going to work. Lo and Behold, fortune favours the bold and my friend started having more success with women. Sure, he sounded like a retard, but just the fact that he was approaching more women than before was working for him. I still didn't like it though. This stuff wasn't for me.
Then, in 2006 when I had forgotten all about it, another friend gave me a copy of "The Game". It was then that I realized that I could do this. It was more my style, and I was recognizing things that I was already doing, both good and bad. Since then, pickup has been something I've wanted to get into, but I've been living in small towns, I've had no boys to help me out, I've been busy with work and I've made all the other little excuses that have given me just enough rope to hang myself. It's been years now, and I have a small library of material and it's helped me make subtle changes for the better but I'm still essentially nowhere.
I'm kicking myself because I feel like I wasted my teen years. I was fit and full of the kind of beauty that only youth can bestow, and I squandered it all getting so drunk I would pass out almost every night. Now I'm 25, but I look 35. My confidence, much like my hair, is slowly eroding. I don't want to look back on my 20's and see nothing but empty bottles.
I've just moved to Oklahoma City. I've got a new condo, I've got a new car. I've got a new life. It's time to ditch the excuses and start living like I want to live.
I know that almost nobody will read this - It's less of an introduction than it is a catharsis - but if you read this I hope it makes sense to you and you take something away from it.
I'll see you guys out in the rest of the forum, and out in the streets. Don't be afraid to say hi. We Canadians really are as friendly as they say
