| | | Vancouver Venue Reviews Alright all your Vancouverites - post your reviews on all the venues that you have visited in Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada).
I'll start: The Red Room: Every Saturday, this is Vancouver's best house music venue. There are PLENTY of women that come to The Red Room (lots of sexy women like dance and house music) - so I would advice anyone to go and check out that venue at least once just to get an idea. The ratio of female to male is pretty much 1:1 and the approximate percentage of single women from that ratio is at least 50%. Highly recommended for all skill levels. Plush Nightclub: This is probably the biggest venue in all of Vancouver - the place is just HUGE inside! It even has two floors that face the main stage and about 4 bar areas. This is mostly a hip-hop club but there is also a lot of electronica being played there - so this club promises a lot of hot women. The skill level is very difficult because you are competing with a lot of men... as the ratio of females to males is roughly 1:1 but the approximate percentage of single women is quite low. There are also a lot of 'playas' going to that club - so I would recommend that only the very experienced PUAs try gaming in that venue.

| | | Places my wings and I love to go to are: The Cambie: 5/10 on my scale. More of a punk rock scene. Also very sausage, however quieter music. Not very target rich. Start your night here before going to the Blarney Stone. Great place for practising your group/AMOG skills but make sure you go in with a couple people. Everyone there is in larger groups at tables or in the lineups for the bar. Best place to sarge is in the smoke pit. Even if you don't smoke (like me). Doolin's Irish Bar: 6/10 Again is quieter than a club and has great food. They have lots of events here including huge St. Patty's day celebrations (for obvious reasons). Even though it is packed (free cover before 10) there will only be around 5-6 sets worth opening on the hotness scale. I recommend starting here at around 9, getting in a few warmup sets and bouncing to another venue. You can always head back to Doolin's later with a couple girls on your arms. Ginger: 9/10 Loud environment. By far one of the most target rich venues in DT Vancouver. Has a lounge area with couches. A VIP room (of which I have snuck into a couple of times). A dance floor. Quite high class. Either get there early or bribe the bouncer 30$ and they'll let you past the lineup. Bemini's: 7/10 Was a great place before it burnt down. Does anybody know when/if it's gonna re-open? In Kitsilano area. Blarney Stone: 8/10 We always have a good time here. With a very energetic vibe and drinks always flowing you'll always be safe coming to the BS. One of my wing's swears by this place and is always pulling me there throughout the night. Is quite a long walk from the Granville strip but is worth it. Make sure you're walking with some people that can handle themselves when walking through Gastown, scary place. There is a section to talk upstairs and a dancefloor downstairs. Is loud environment but worth it for the young girls that go there. The Ocean Beach: 5/10 In White Rock (right beside me). Don't recommend it unless you choose your weekends (right by the border so the 19/20 y/o's go there for the weekend). Is heavy club scene. The only benefit is being able to bring girls to some pretty cool side bars along the White Rock strip. The Bourbon: 4/10 Was not very pleased with the amount of girls here. It's a hard rock club/bar on weekends. I've heard that they've got a DJ spinning on days other than Fri/Sat nights. Stage for live bands. Seating in the back and very front is the only place quiet enough to open sets. Great if you're just looking to party with friends. Only been sarging there twice but every time regretted walking all the way from the strip into Gastown. To each his own. Shine: 6/10 Funky music here. Mixes of classic rock songs with new beats. Love it for clubbing however is loud and very small. Some hot hired guns. Caelis': 6/10 Love this place. Dance floor on one side, Bar/tables on the other side. I always stick to the tables. People are very open there but cops are always walking through it. Guess they get lots of minors going there (*wink* she said she was 19).
I'll post more Venue Reviews later.

| | | Caprice: pretty nice. high class kinda vibe but with lots of different kinds of people coming. Umm, get on the guestlist so you can get in past the line up, and hang out inside. I think the list is only good till about 10:30. Its 2 floors, nice seating area upstairs (good to isolate) and also has some quieter spots downstairs as well. big dance floor. GETS SUPER LOUD at about 11ish, which makes talking rather difficult. Its best to come in a bit early, and open before it gets loud, and meet people that way. Before it gets louder, its perfect for talking to people. However, I'm guessing you'd have to rely a lot on dancing too. Target rich, with some of the prettier people ive seen downtown. I've only been twice but both times were pretty good. Foggy Dew: College bar out in coquitlum by lougheed mall. Lots of college people go here, seating and such. Decent food, go early to avoid line ups and cover (yes its a bar with potential cover). To be honest, ive only gone here twice as well, and both times i was both drunk, and got a girl, so its been good times. Not very loud, good for talking. Ummmm, i cant really remember how the girls were since i was a little out of it but yeah. small dance area, live band. The Royal: hahaa i think we went here the most over the summer. Very laid back bar club type place. Casual. Wide variety of people come here, usually younger college aged crowd. Decent pricing for drinks and cover. The set up is a little wierd for movement and walking around, but all in all, very friendly atmosphere. Girls are so - so, but its a fun place to go. A lot of times when we've met people outside or in other bars, they all end up at the royal, so social proof. But usually its pretty easy to talk up anyone in here.
The Cambie: I would not recommend going here to do pickup. Tables, TONS of guys, if you're not that close to someone its loud and hard to talk. Best way to pick up here would be walking around, on your way to the bathroom, in the drink line ups and so on. People are pretty friendly and out for a good time. Not really my kind of crowd, but its cheap and all around fun. But too many duuuuudes and not that many decent looking ladies. Yale town Brewing Company: hahah, I never get anything here. Not my kind of venue, but it may work for some. Older crowd, more laid back. I dont know, i've yet to have a good time here. I dont fit in i guess. Mynt 555: GOOD PLACE, at least the one time we went. Small, but nice loungy seating, not overly loud. I plan on coming in here some time when its actually busier, as we went at the beggining of the night. Might be good for venue change as its more intimate and stuff. Very classy looking. I havnt been here when the place was in full swing though, so the jury is still out, but i recomend checking it out. PS. no cover! it was a pretty sweet place. GO THERE!

| | | You guys have covered most of them-- thought I'd just add a few: The Morrisey: 4/10 Yet to see a hot girl in there. Lol. Friendly-- good for warmup sets. Caprice Lounge: 7/10 More a restaurant than a lounge atmosphere, but girls are usually hot, and more social atmosphere than most restaurants. Quiet. Backpackers Bar (below Global Village Hostel): ??/10 A bar and a couch. Never been in here, but if there was an aussie hottie there I'd suddenly get thirsty... El Furniture Warehouse: 6/10 Small, very friendly, usually not too loud (until later, when everyone is drunk), and free peanuts! HB6-7's, usually in mixed sets. Opus: 8/10 Quite small, but not very loud and usually quality women. Classier. Tonic: 6/10 Despite its rep, I *have* had some awesome times there. Quiet smoking area upstairs, generally a good mix of guys and HB<8's. The Republic 1/10. Slightly quieter area upstairs. You can see most of the club from outside, and the guy-girl ratio is usually awful. Did see an HB11 coming out of there one time though Celebrities 7/10. If you want to find other PUA's, Tuesday night is the time to do it. Ratio is usally 2:1:1:1 for hb8-9's, PUA's, AFC's, and gay guys, with a good smattering of ugs and trannies thrown in. Fun times! As long as you don't mind getting hit on by other guys...constantly... Library Square 7/10. Frequently dead, but usually seems decent on a Saturday night. A bit off the beaten track (down by the coliseum), but worth checking if you can't get in anywhere else! |

i don't know what youd do for talking, because i doubt ud get much done
decent sitting areas i guess
in my opinion, not worth the 'trip'
