I've closed quite a few - probably around ten. I have a unique and unfair advantage however :-)
My father owns an adult entertainment agency on the east coast - and I used to leverage that all the time. Unfortunately I've moved across the country now and can no longer use that, but I have been able to use those experiences to develop a little bit of game for cold pickup at the establishments without windows. Here's some general things I do know:
1. They will date customers - but not regulars - regulars are their bread and butter. I, however do not buy dances at clubs often and still get numbers and dates.
2. Most are embarrassed about what they do. They prefer to date guys that are within the context of knowing what they do - my situation or meeting them at a club.
3. Well more than half are pretty messed up in the head. Family issues, daddy issues, and they do a LOT of drugs. That is one stereotype that is so true. But there are some perfectly normal ones who do it for the cash. Those are the ones that are a little bit harder to obtain, but worthwhile.
4. They do have dreams of white picket fences, mini-vans and kids, yada yada. Stripping is only a 'temporary' thing for them - but this does not mean you are going to get them to stop. In fact, if you push on getting them out of it they will probably write you off.
5. Make sure you let them know you've dated a stripper before. Chicken before the egg scenario - you will have to lie for your first one. I hate lying, but this is an important quality to convey.
6. They all ROCK in the sack. Every single one was very open sexually and we had lots of fun. Most are bi also - big huge plus!
7. They're smart. They have good social skills of course to be doing what they're doing and can read us better than we can probably read them. Don't underestimate their intelligence.
8. They will walk all over you if you let them and mess with your head. All sorts of people will be texting her and calling her at all odd hours. Know this and deal with it.
9. They hate other girls - don't expect to form a
social circle of strippers to form around you.
