dude, you live in fucking new york, its not like changing schools is going to completely remove you from all contact with everyone you know now. jerry seinfeld put it best; "guys don't need to have anything in common to be friends"
all you have to do is put yourself into a receptive state of mind, and you'll see more opportunities than you can imagine to meet new people. stop worrying about all the symantics of "how will the friendship work if i change schools" or "what if we don't like the same things" and just talk to people. as far as meeting guys to hang out with, go to a party, or a bar or the mall or anywhere that people congregate, and just talk to people. or meet friends of friends. it's really not as hard as you're making it out to be.
