Hey Everybody Im here today to discuss picking up women in China, for those of you with stamps in their passports pull up a chair.

I've have lived a few summers in Beijing and have been spending the last fall and spring in Haerbin, my Chinese is definatly reached a point where I can converse and flirt with few major problems. This is what I have learned about picking up Chinese girls (Mainland girls, Taiwan is much more like the West).

One if your in a big major city (especially Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen etc.) there is much more of a crowd up to Western style hookups, and as you get to the south people seem to be a lot more Kaifang (open if you will). Number two, if your looking to date the everyday Chinese girl (refering to lifestyle not attractivness) you should be planning to go on some dates, they are really big into commitment. This is a good time to mention that text messaging and is huge in this country as a means to flirt. If you text with somebody for like an hour its like a whole other date to em. It is also a great way to resume communication with someone you met at a club or bar a couple nights before. MSN is also good.

However in a club atmosphere there is still a lot of potential for meeting girls who are not the norm which can be good and bad. Good like you can have a one night stand with em, bad like the time a girl told me on our second, and last, date she had had an abortion. Never say never in China, especially with the type of women that go to clubs. Once again average Chinese people do not hit clubs and bars.

Also what you do, from what I can gather, is Huge to Chinese women, this is because they are after all looking for husbands and to most, money is essential. Thus being older and more established is a huge bonus. For example me and my fellow student friends who actually speak the language have a harder time then the mediocore looking english teacher who can barely ask where the bathroom is. For those who only speak a little I would say you might want to stick to English and find some girl who wants to practice hers, always an easy and great method. For those who speak well I find really simple lines that allow you to show your abiltiy with the language work really well. For example I have had the jealouse girl friend routine work for me a few times.

Also getting a Chinese girls number I feel is really easy, doing something with it afterword can be a little tricky, but you cant expect for them to be showing all the IOIs a Western girl would. A lot of it is just time invesment, as one Chinese friend explained it some girls are just kinda waiting for some man to just make all the effort. Alot of people here have no idea how to date or handle these situations and thus can act a little weird, don't let it discourage you keep at it. My last bit on advise is that because religion is not a real influence in Chinese culture, and beliefs about whats right and wrong when it comes to sex and dating are purely social, girls are mainly just concerned with what other people will think about them, thus if you keep a lot on the DL, (especially when your not there boyfriend), they are a little more open they would like to come off. And as a foreigner they know your alot more open to sex and will be willing to do much more with you then they would any Chinese guy.

Anyways thats my experience and Ill keep you posted on what I learn in the East. Im always open for discussion on the subject so if your interested hit me up or make a post about what you have learned. Oh and keep a hat on it, STD testing aint a common occurence here.
