Cold Reading Trick
Hey guys,
here is a very simple cold reading trick I used for quiet a couple of time. It's called Grey Elephants in Denmark and that's how it works:
1. Ask anyone in the group to choose a number between 1 and 10
2. Let him/her (I'll use "her" from now on) multiply it by 9.
3. Let her add all the digits of that number together.
4. Let her substract 5.
5. Let her connect the solution with a letter from the alphabet.
6. Let her think of country beginning with that letter.
7. Let her take the second letter and let her think of an animal beginning with that letter.
8. Now let her think of the color of that animal.
9. Say you are certain there ain't no grey elephants in Denmark.
Here is what happened:
1. You don't have to worry what number she chooses. The trick works with anyone. So let's say her choice is 7.
2. 7x9=81
3. 8+1=9
4. 9-5=4
5. The fourth letter of the alphabet is "D".
6. 95% of the persons will choose Denmark.
7. The second letter is "E".
8. The most often chosen animal beginning with an E is elephant.
9. People will usually think of grey although there are brown ones, too.
Beware: As most cold reading tricks this one will work 95% of the time, but there are some variables, ex. People could think of an emu instead of an elephant. It needs a little bit of practice until you got the steps by heart and a little bit of showman ship. Something like: Now look deep into my eyes... and so on.
Have some fun with it.
