I've known this girl for a while and i've realized that every time we talk or text i've been the one to initiate it. She always responds positively and excitedly to everything i've said and we always have fun when we hang out. So is it bad that i'm the one that always initiates?

not for me. Just don't become too needy and annoying with the texts. And set up a date, don't let the phone be your only point of contact with her

It's bad if there's no progression and she's the only girl you've been speaking with. On the other hand, sometimes you can have girls on the "back burner", where things move a little slower.
