How to get a guys number without it being akward (no homo)

A guy from my work goes to the same college as me I've heard and I want to get his number so we can go pick up and etc. (I just noticed this seemed like the biggest homo thread I've posted) Usually I dont ask to get guys numbers because I'm too busy with the wimminz but It would be good social proof.

Also me and the guy are friends

first try to get the number from a mutual friend.
if not, then you need a reason to take his number.
so plan an event like playing basketball or playing nintendo or... starcraft 2v2.. etc..
then just tell him give me your number i might need directions or some shit.
and punch it in and call him so he has your number too..
and then you just say cool dude.

"Hey "Travis" I heard you go to CVCC"

Travis: Yea man, you go there?

Me: Yeah, thats cool man let me get your number so i can get in touch to hang out at school

Something to that effect. what do u think
