New, but Ready to Roll

Hey guys, how's it going!? I'm Fuzzy Slippers.

A bit of background/description so we're not complete strangers.

I'm a 5'4" (almost) Filipino/white guy, 18 years old, weighing in at about 167 lbs. I have fairly muscular build, but I do have some pudge to burn off. I play guitar very well, and currently learning to read palms and Tarot Cards to use as a crutch and my own interest. I am easygoing, funny, but my real sticking point is my social skills and social value.

Throughout my life I have been a VERY private person who always wanted either to be involved with everyone (in a clingy way) or to be left alone. Needless to say my social skills in my childhood were very underdeveloped and I have trouble really relating to people even to this day. I was an outcast/nerd in high school; interested in computers and such. I only hung out with the same crowd guys like me. I was afraid of really socializing with anyone else who wasn't in my immediate clique because I was of what my friends would think.

My 'love' life has always been a vicious cycle of:

-seeing an attractive girl
-thinking I have a chance with her
-constantly fantasizing and idealizing her into a goddess
-lowering my self-esteem with "how could a girl like her ever be with a guy like me" thinking
-brining myself down to a depression
-ultimately giving up, with no actual effort
-seeing another attractive girl
-thinking that I ACTUALLY have a chance with THIS one

you get the idea.

But now I'm going to break this cycle, get my game together, meet some people and live my life. I owe it to myself to become successful.

I have started to improve my social skills; saying 'hi' and 'whats up' to everyone who comes my way and forcing my self to keep talking and add to a conversation instead of just asking questions all the time.

I'm always open to constructive criticism so if you have any questions/comments/tips you're free .

I live in OC and looking for any other PUAs in the area to hang with. I may be new, but I'm EXTREMELY coachable.

P.S. I keep hearing about this 'newbie mission' and I have an idea of what it is, but can someone fill me in on a definition so I can get started on the right foot? thanks.

Hey man, thought i'd welcome you to the forums!

I would suggest reading up on a few stuff. Magic Bullets, Lovesystem Routine Manuel These two books are amazing...

(The Game, which you probably have already read.. but thats more of a fun read. :-P)

Do a little search on the forum about the Newbie mission - I think there are a lot of people are doing it.
