Why does everybody use fake names on field reports?
I'm confused as to why it has become a standard to write field reports like this:
c_n12: You know you have a very interesting way about you and I had to come up and tell you that.
HBGangsta: hehe thanks what's your name
c_n12: c_n12, you?
HBGangsta: HBGangsta
Instead of like this:
Chris: You know you have a very interesting way about you and I had to come up and tell you that.
Jessica: haha thanks what's your name
Chris: Chris, you?
Jessica: Jessica
What are people trying to hide on forums by posting aliases instead of real first names?

I understand, respect and have read through your rules; I don't have a problem with them. I simply don't understand how posting a first name defeats anonymity. It's not really all that important for anything, just a curiousity.

Here is the thing, no one but the poster would know if it was the persons real name or not anyway.

I also think you can view a nick name as an alter ego. On one hand theirs you and on the other hand theirs they you who you have always wanted to be. And you nick name is that person.
Just like The movie "Fight Club"

So, whats lamer, posting about a topic that no one should care about, or posting about a topic that you dont care about to let people know that they shouldnt care about it?
Thats a deep question.
