How much space are we working with?
Do you have roommates?
Do you own it? If not, can you paint the walls?
What's your budget?
Do you have any existing furniture we need to consider?
What's your lifestyle? Hobbies, interests, job, etc?



If you've got cable, check out HGN. Watch all of the design on a dime you can stand. Tell your girl friends you need help decorating. And if you can afford it, hire an interior decorator.

I have 2 roomates
I do not own the house
I already have a mattress and box spring.
My budget would be around $800
The room is fairly big and has on-suite( not sure the dementions)
My hobbies anything to do with sports, fitness and healthy living

Let's focus on your bedroom. Not much you can do with shared space, without involving your roommates.

Furniture

Buy a Malm bed from Ikea for $200. Get the optional shelf or nightstand for both sides.
IKEA | MALM series

Add a Sumo Onni Plus for $200.
Sumo / Bean Bags / Bean Bag Chairs / Bean Bag Furniture / Bean Bag Store

Add a large pile rug. Should be able to find one under $150.

Decorations

Spend $50 on curtains
Spend $50 on pillows
Spend $50 on art
Spend $50 on lighting
Spend $50 on blatant sexual props. Keep these discretely in your nightstand or on your shelf.

Have a girl help you decorate. Pick up some sports trophies or periphinalia if its appropriate.
