Default Rate my Style (pics included)

Hey guys. I'm going to give a reference to who I am as it may help your critiques and suggestions on the outfits. I'm a 19 year old college student who regularly goes out to meet people at malls, streets, grocery stores, clubs, frat parties (basically anywhere). As always, Thanks ahead for all the great input! Pictures are numbered so its easier to comment.

Main questions I had:
  • What is missing in the outfits?
  • What suggestions do you have to spice them up a bit and make them more appealing/attractive?
  • There is one picture with short hair (about 5 months ago) and the rest are with long hair. Which do you think looks better short or long (the long hair does need trimmed up at the very least)?
  • Do the raw denim jeans look too tight or misfitted with my body. I used to wear baggier jeans with more of a flare and my friend said they look a bit too tight (on a diet anyways to drop 15 lbs)
  • Anything else you want to comment or recommend that may help

Things I still plan on getting:
  • More long sleeve dress shirts ( I tend to love graphic ls dress shirts. Don't know if that's good or bad)
  • designer t shirts that people will recognize (recommended by true story)
  • 2 Pairs of nice brown or black dress/ casual dress shoes
  • belts

My tips are probably crap but here is my 2 cents anyway:

Overall tip: don't take pictures with the camera at waist-level. It causes a slight zoom on that part, with your head and feet a touch further away. Short story, it makes you look chubbier and oddly proportioned from what I can see. Anyway:

1: You're the middle I assume? Make a smaller tie knot, and on that note, get a new tie Make it skinnier and not that shiny red colour. Maybe red with thin black stripes.

2: This may be the picture angle, but it looks like you have a super high waist. if so, don't untuck your shirt. Otherwise, if wearing a graphic tee, you should probably make it colourful. Wrists look bear, add a bracelet and/or watch. Also, definitely don't untuck like that if you don't even have a decent buckle to show off. Like the jeans.

3: Same as 2. Black shirt is even more boring from behind though. Again, colour!

4: I see no picture.

5: Slimmer shirt I feel, should taper in a touch around the stomach if possible. You're a touch chubby, but I think you could still get away with a little slimmer fit. Maybe roll up the sleeves to make it more casual.

6: Same as 5.

7: Colour! Wrists!

8: Glad something's on the back of the shirt this time. Still, colour!

9: Brighter colours I prefer, but better than black :P.

10: Are your jeans too long? May want to look into a better fitting pair?

11: Kind of boring. Needs colour again. Same drill.

12: Like the necklace and ring, but would add a bracelet and/or a watch.

Not a fan of the accessories, and a brighter color would compliment you a little more. How are you doing on footwear? Roll up your shirt sleeves and try to get away without wearing an undershirt. Consider straightening the ends of your hair and then using wax on it.

i should add the jeans looks great i think you're doing well there.

I'd keep the undershirt, open up one more button on the buttondown, wear about 3 or 4 interesting necklaces, add bracelets a watch, more rings, and a belt with character.

and as i mentioned before COLOR, when you buy a pair of nice shoes, buy dress shoes or chealsea boots, nice ones.

I'm getting a rocker vibe, so keep your cuffs unbuttoned, tuck half of the front of the button down shirt, and the front of the t-shit, and see how it looks.

then take some pics so we can bust your chops some more

here is an example of the boots i'm talking about:

now if you take black shoe polish and polish the toe in the front, it'll start to take on an antiqued look which will just look awesome, and it wont cost you an arm and a leg like antiqued shoes cost.

antiquing adds character, which is something you should be looking for to make clothes look interesting.

Not really sure exactly what style I want to go for. I just wanted to be generally well-dressed with a slight edge to what I wear.

Do you guys know of any designers that make nice shirts (with color lol)? I would be looking to spend about 40-80$ on tshirts and 50-100$ on long sleeved shirts.

Skinny when you say to have 3-4 necklaces.. I assume that is in rotation and not worn all at once right?

And as far as braceletts go. Would leather wrist cuffs do the trick?

all at once, look up Johnny Depp in Google images and you'll see what i'm talking about.

$100 buys some really nice shirts if you know where to buy them, where are you located anyways? if you are in the NJ/NY area i have some spots to buy nice shirts.

i dont really like to draw too much attention with any one peice, i like to have a look or image built with many peices.
