I'm 6'2", 284 lbs and size 40 waist.

I've recently started working out and eating less (~2 months ago) and I've been dropping 2-3 lbs a week, even as much as 8 lbs one week. One thing that surprised me a ton is that I even got drunk last Saturday (I had 8 beers), and I still lost a pound over the weekend, though I did do a lot of exercise on Sunday as well as ate extremely lightly.

Either way, my weight's steadily going down, and as I'm only doing weight lifting at the gym, my muscles are getting bigger too. So even if I lose 2 lbs of total weight, I'm losing even more fat, and gaining lean mass. 2 months ago, I started at a 95 lbs bench press, and today I successfully completed all my reps with a plate on each side (135 lbs).

Anyway, if you dress right, being overweight shows much less. The trick is to get clothes with the perfect cut for you. Whenever I go shopping, I grab 3 or 4 things that look extremely similar until I've found the one that falls on me just right.

I'm 5'9 and 220lbs. I'm a size 36.

I agree with Enrickey. If you wear the right clothes, people won't notice that you're overweight. It'll show that you are confident as fuck and that is a good thing to have. Anything dark will make you look thinner.

Although I'm happy with the way I am, I focus on a lot of soccer related conditioning exercises because diabetes and high blood pressure problems runs in my family and I lost family members due to thos illness, so I'm working on being around 195. I do a lot of running, stomach crunches, push ups and sit ups.

So you're not the only big guy around.

In my experience, girls would rather have a chubby guy than a thin one. I dated a girl for two years who was 5'0 110 lbs, and she always wanted me to get bigger (I was 5'6 130 lbs when we started dating, by the end I was 5'7 145). So all you guys who might have shaky confidence because you're large - don't.

IMO, the best body weight to height ratio would be 2.3 lbs / inch, which puts my weight goal at 157 lbs. You want to either have extra weight, or that "V" shaped torso, anything but a straight upper body. If your ribcage is visible, man up and hit the gym.

If you're ever in Edmonton, and want to make some money, there was some punk mouthin me the other night... haha.

Well I've never seen you, but a friend of mine played for the Jets/Redskins and he's 6'6 280, it looks like a pretty solid weight. I don't know about too skinny - but you definitely wouldn't need to lose anything.

Yeah I should've rephrased that; 2.35 is the ideal ratio for me and the lifestyle I lead. I like the way it looks on me, and I'm into MMA so it's helpful to keep my weight within +/- 15 of 145.

20 inch. ha! Even when I was within my BMI range I was still a 34.

And my body fat is over 20%. Thank you very much!

You don't need the killer bod to get laid. Sure. It makes you feel better about yourself, builds confidence, and girls absolutely love it. I dropped 5% body fat and gained 15 lbs of muscle at the gym over the summer. My girls have ALL commented on it.
