I started on the 14th, but I'll just end 2 weeks earlier than everyone else

I had a new thought for this:

1. Post pics when the denim is brand new
2. Monthly update pics
3. Pictures right before and right after the first wash ~4-6 months
4. A picture a month later

If anyone needs sizing help, post or pm me. Some raw jeans are sanforized and wont shrink in the wash. Some jeans you need to size down as much as 3 sizes. Make sure you find out before buying.

The Gap's current line includes denim that is "Raw Indigo". The female attendant didn't know anything worthwhile about them (even though I still played along and listened to her advice and what...).

So, question is; are these pants raw denim? They fairly cheap (at least not $150), I think they're like $40-$50 which seems inexpensive in the "Raw" market.

Just wondering.

^ i didn't see anything on the website...there are some rinsed jeans, which look raw but fade very, very slowly, and some dark resin-coated jeans, whick will literally take forever to fade.

H&M has cheap raw denim, though. the tags will have a warning about the indigo transferring or something.

i'll check gap if i go to the mall this weekend

One month update!

I've taken pictures, but lost my SD card reader thing. I'll post pics once I find it.

Review of month #1 when I get the pics up.

Anyone else have some pics?

Can I join the fun?

Had my nudie Black Slim Jims for about 2.5 months now. Took me forever to select a fit that I liked, also found out that the black raw denims is the hardest to break in so...I have to wear 6 months won't cut it, so I'm going to have to wait until I've worn them for a year straight.

Here is my pics, they are the only jeans I currently wear and I always wear them when partying. (These jeans messed up one of my blazers also its hard to break in so I will have to wear them longer than 6 months, I'm thinking a year straight)

Sweet man!

I'm thinking about buying a pair of Nudies in black. Maybe a purchase a year or two down the road

Default H&M -vs- Flat Head

Ok, so I'm a couple weeks behind the rest of you guys

My Flat Heads finally arrived today and I decided to pick up some H&M Raw Denim as well to compare the two.

Here's a pic of the two of them:

Another comparison shot:

The Flat Head label:

Comparing the Flat Head and the H&M isn't really fair. The H&M cost about $40 and the Flat Head almost $200 more than that. You can really tell the difference, too. The H&M are very thin - it feels like you can push your fingernail through the denim. The Flat Head are even stiffer than a new pair of 501's. Putting on the Flat Heads I can tell they will take several months longer to break in than the H&Ms. Also Flat Head has some very nice touches - for example they rivet the rear pockets, but cover the rivets so you can't see them. Very high quality (to be expected for the price).

I'll hold off washing the H&Ms for a few months, depending on how they break in. The Flat Heads are going to have to wait at least 6 months, maybe more... I can't wait to see the legendary Flat Head contrast kick in
