in gym etiquette?

ok so i worked at a gym for a while, long story short i got fired for being a skinhead (no i'm not racist) back on topic, the gym i worked at and every gym i've ever trained at was set up where the women had their own isolated facility for comfort reasons. So all i've ever been working out around are a bunch of guys and the occasional female body builder. After i got fired, i ended up in this gym where the girls are not isolated. Cool, it doesn't phase me at first. Til i go mid day, gym rush hour. Girls in these victoria secret shortshort-shorts with "PINK" written across the butt. Girls in spandex, with what look like intentional camel toes... it's that obvious. And just... well, they know what the hell they're wearing.
Now, i catch myself looking. And i guess i wasn't too discrete cause she gave me a nasty look (i know it's not polite to stare, but bloodyhell, she's on the hip-adductor machine spreading her legs like the day she lost it) Keep in mind i'm not used to working out around females... What i don't understand is... they know they're going into this room, this sea of testosterone, wearing what they're wearing... knowing they're GOING TO get attention... yet they get pissed when they get it? You should be more offended if you're wearing that and i don't give you a second glance. Anyone ever encountered anything like this?
Another thing... i go to the locker room and there's four ass naked guys in a circle talking to eachother like they were at the mall... is it that hard to put underwear on? I wanted to go up and ask em "hey so who's dating who?" but i was scared they were gonna try to get me in the conversation.

I'm not used to this environment, how do you guys workout without giving the girls any attention or cussing out naked old dudes?

Then THIS never happened to me (it's a smaller gym than i'm used to)
"Hey BRO how many sets you got left?"

I'll be damned it you're gonna cut into my workout, go find another bench/machine/set of cables/dumbell/barbell to workout the muscle you're hitting today, when you see me wipe it down and walk away, i'm done. messing up my rhythm... the hell's your problem?

i think shift needs to cut back on the test. booster.

I don't see anything wrong with asking someone how many sets they have left on a piece of equipment, say a bench. My gym only has 4 flat benches and sometimes they are full and I just want to know approximately how much time they have left on it so I can either choose to wait if they have 1-2 sets left or go do something in the mean time.

The locker room is a bad place to go, I'm assuming you are going to a public gym like Gold's or something, and not a school gym. There are a lot of disgusting things that go on in a men's locker room from someone blow drying their balls with the hand dryer to shaving butt ass naked in the mirror. You are going to see naked guys, most of them could have the decency to do 90% of the things at home. I try to find a locker facing a wall so I can avoid most of the people hanging out naked doing messed up things in the locker room that they should be doing at home.

There will always be girls skankily dressed wearing spandex. You must develop the skills to make it not obvious you're checking out her tight ass or bulging breasts. Try using the mirrors to sneak a view instead of a direct stare. Use the casual "I'm stretching my neck and you happened to just be there" or safest bet just make sure she isn't looking when you check her out .

the private gym i used to go to, i saw a few fights almost break out just because someone would interrupt someone elses workout with a question like that,(it was a big gym with... not many people at any time of the day) i guess you just take your habits with you...

yea, it's a public gym i'm at now. over heard someone talking about one of the members taking a crap in the shower there. i can't make sense of it...
then no one takes a towel, all too often people don't wipe down their machines.

maybe i was just at a snobby gym, but everyone was anal about re racking weights, NOT throwing weights around, bringing your own towel while you workout, time to adapt eh?

People asking how long you will be tying up a piece of equipment is standard. You don't have to let them work in. "I would but I'm timing my rests. I'll be done in X minutes."

Women don't mind a cool guy noticing them, but staring is creepy.

i just did a double take and stopped at exactly the wrong time. i know it came off as creepy but what's done is done, gotta be more careful.
