| | | So whose done a 'cut' before? Plz re: Hola Amigos,
Has anyone done a 'cut' before?
I'm not looking on doing one right now, but I finish Uni in 2 months. When I do finish, I'm lookin to get that ripped/cut look... like lower my body fat to 12%ish.
Anyways, I'm 5' 9'' and weigh 161 pounds. Probably between 18-20% body fat.
Thing is, I've tryed gettin cut before but never acheived my goals :-(
So anyone with any experience of this, could you tell what you did and how it went, and any other useful info!
Thanks! |

| | | My diet was very low carb, high in unsaturated fat, high in protein and high in fiber to further keep insulin levels low. I also did cardio like 2x/week and lifted 3x/week.
I suggest reading the ebook "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" by Tom Venuto, it is great info for beginners who want to learn about cutting diets and getting shredded to the bones.
Good luck man.

| | | i have done a few cuts before and am on one now actually ...
first one was massive .. i lost 43 kilos (95lbs) .. that one was moe a weight lss thing not a cut ... i started lifting weights after the initial wight loss .. after a few years of that i decided to do a cutter (for a beach holiday) and lost 15kgs (33lbs) in 7 weeks.. i was nicely shredded .. that consisted of weight training and 45 mins cardio five days a week ... seriously restricted diet ... oats and water for breakfast chicken/turkey sandwich(brown) for lunch .. chicken and vegies for dinner .. turkey and walnuts to snack ... it was fucking hardcore .... didnt have a tv at the time .. and my housemates werent into that type of lifestyle so i had to watch them eat pizza and ice cream daily whilst i choked down dry arse chicken breast .. i used to read take away menus to keep me sane, to imagine the food instead of actually eating it .. but it served its purpose ...
now i know more about nutrition so i'm not starving as much .. trying to eat more protien .. but i find that hard .. i hold on to muscle and gain it quite easily ...
it is a basic calories in vs calories out game .. and i think sometimes hardcore is the wy to go for drastic results .. i just cant be arsed with it these days it seems
oh yeah .. cheat meals on sundays got me thru the weeks
if you want more detailed info just ask |

| | | You don't have to go crazy to get to 12%. You just have to make some adjustments that don't bother you much (or ideally at all), so you can stick with them.
If you have to make a decision everyday to lose the weight (painful workouts, hardcore dieting), it's hard.
If you modify your behaviour once, (find medium excercise enjoyable... little diet modifications like a "no soda" policy) then you can forget about it, and it will happen naturally.
It's just like sarging.
If you go in with only outer game routines... you're going to get killed.
If you sort out your inner game... pretty much anything will work.
So work on your inner game. |

Thanks! | Hey man, 161 lbs at 5'9 is a pretty decent weight, but if you are 18-20% bf at that weight, I would suggest adding muscle mass. Otherwise you'll cut down to what, 140 pounds and scrawny as all hell. Lift some weights and eat a clean, healthy diet.
I'm currently 175 lbs at 5'9 and I'm about 7-8% body fat right now and I've got a pretty good build at my weight. |

| | | you need less calories/more energy expenditure to lose the fat
however 5`9 and 160 is pretty slim anyay, i'd get yourself on a muscle building routine first
