Suggestions/help on day game progression

This is my first post. I have only recently gotten over the apprehension of approaching HB9-HB10 material. I must admit i was only introduced to magic bullet and this forum six months ago. Since then i have practiced day game whenever i can and have tried to learn from mistakes i make. i have # closed 3-4 times but i can see i still have issues with the progression leading to # close.

I thought i could post some recent field reports so i can have people on the forum tell me what i have been missing /doing wrong.

So yesterday i was at a supermarket. Saw a HB9 and approached her in maybe 5 secs. Then opened her with an opinion opener, what will happen if i serve a frozen food dish on my first date? She was a bit surprised and said thats horrible.then i went into how my friends have set me up with this girl...i am very close to my friends but i dont really want this date to work , and dont know what to tell her.
Me: what would you do?
HB9:yeah (laughing) i know how it is
Me: yeah right? i mean i am sure my friends mean well but....what has been your worst dinner on a date?
HB9: my ex-Bf got me a bagel for dinner?!?!..can you believe that
Me:no way!!...see the thing is i dont want to be too obvious you know?...she is a nice girl i just dont think it works when people try to set you up...
HB9: Ok heres what you do (she seemed definately interested)...blah balh
Me: wow i never would have guessed looking at you you would stoop to such levels!!
HB9: laughs
Me: sounds good...i raise my hand for a five...she returns it..(although i must say my effort was bit half hearted..i never do hi-fives normally)...i also was not making too much eye contact the whole time either

so i ask her name as i thank her....
she then brings up her BF. how he is visiting her this weekend...i ignore.

But hey!!..what about if she likes it though?!?...then what
HB9: then you are screwed (laughs)
Me: Oh come on....then since i took ur advice, you will have to come over and eat all this delicious food.
HB9: laughs again....doesnt say anything

I must admit i did ask her at this point if she is a student?....i was just trying to transition to everyday talk...we did talk about what i did and what she did..i was making a little fun of her all the time..and she seemed to be giving me IOIs.

Then i told her i normally go to this wondeful turkish place for dinner after i shop here and she should join me there. She said she had to rush somewhere...i think i should have asked her for some other time to join me but i was not sure and said thanks for her advice and took her leave...

What could i have done ?...any suggestions /tips/ criticisms welcome.

Most people in grocery stores are intent on buying groceries and going on to bigger things. Also, they're often hungry, especially right after work, so they can be short-tempered. It's not always the best place for approaches.

But you did an excellent job of keeping it going. You got over AA. You stayed in-set for a long time. You ignored the BF mention. And you're aware of your mistakes.

Well done. Now you just have to go do it several thousand more times.

Beta behaviour. Alphas don't go on blind dates; if they want to say "no" they say it in no uncertain terms. I sure don't cook for a girl I don't wanna be on a date with.

Thanks[/quote]You made an approach that was quite good, then it went downhill as you reverted to AFC. Approaches, if conquered, are the largest obstacle to guys. Keep working.

Nice. One thing I'd say is "worst dinner date"...may bring out bad emotions. But at least it flowed so this is no great mistake.
