Default Librarian shows interest in me..need advice

I'm a tutor. I regularly tutor an 11 year old in a public library. I see the librarians as you walk into the Library as they are sitting straight in front of you - so they see you as well.
Today, as I was signing in (you sign in to take a quiet tutoring room), she asked me what I tutor 'Jane' in. I told her...for a test, also the mother likes me to help her with other things...I teach her a little Shakespeare and science too... She says it's great that they want good things for their daughter, etc...just a complimentary tone and about 2 mins. of talk.
I'm sitting after this exchange waiting for 'Jane'. The librarian comes up to me and says 'What would a person do if they were interested in learning more about Shakespeare'? She is foreign...maybe from a European country...but, I mean we are in a library...she'd know where to look, no? Anyway I just tell her pick up some summaries, then try to read a version with good notes...
I'm saying she showed interest..I just felt it might look a tiny bit desperate at the time if I used her Shakespeare interest to ask her to do something...
Anyway, 'newbie' looking for good advice. I'll see her again when I tutor this girl for sure.

Without being there, it sounds like she expressed interest in your tutoring, and then asked how she could go about getting tutoring on a subject. If she is international, she might need some help beyond what books can provide her. I wouldn't consider this as her expressing interest.

On the other side of things. I ALWAYS assume a girl is expressing interest. So go for it anyways. Initiate conversation with her and work through the three stages.

find out about stage productions/plays going on in your city...preferably a shakespearean one....then invite her! [hey, if you wanted to learn more about shakespeare, the local high school/theatre company is doing ###%#%@ i'm gonna go see it, you can come if you want...something along those lines] if there are no plays by shakespeare, pick one and make up a BS explanation about how it was "influenced" by shakespeare. :]

Default planned a meeting

Hey guys

Thanks for the comments. I saw her today. I talked to her...asked how her Shakespeare was coming. She said it wasn't. I asked her if she'd be interested in reading his 'Sonnets'...that I hadn't read them but would like to read them. She seemed excited about it. She made a bit more conversation, kindof feeling me out about if I really knew anything about poetry. I passed. She gave me her email. Later she showed me some books she checked out. So, if all goes well we'll have our Shakespeare meeting soon!

Peace

PS - I had thought about the Shakespeare company. I felt that was a good suggestion too. But, I sortof had the sense that if I had pulled that one that it was showing too much interest. I don't know...was just my sense.

Tutoring kids is a huge DHV. So is knowing your way around a poem. The librarian's Shakespeare mention was her giving you an opening. Take it and run!
