PU Tips for new guys With all degree of praticing a art, heres some tips I've come across, through reading and doing myself. This post is meant more for the new guys in the community.
Be Natural- No quick, jerky motions, be slow, deliberate and natural.
Pratice PU wherever you go- Yea, this is a headjob been applying it, it definatly helps- you don't even have to do PU but constantly chatting leaves the option open
Presentation is Half the Battle- Your presentation should be simple and straight forward and easily understood so that your audience (set) grasps full meaning of what you are doing and saying. Think about that next time you go sarge. This isn't the intial PU more of the personality conveying to the group unless its direct.
Patter- Talk. You want to steer the conversation, not control though. Let the people in the set add their 2 cents but steer it to where you want it. This goes into storylines. The artist wants to weave little stories into his stacks leave them discontinued then be able to go back to them.
Pratice Intelligently- I'll be lieing if I don't say I have problems with this. Have tons. But in every subject/artform/career whatever there takes a great degree of repitition. Theres a tendency to mindlessly repeat the moves you are working on over and over again. While this certainly helps, you'll get much better results if you think while your doing, at least in the beginning.
Don't Tell!- Never expose yourself to someone out of the community. Not to family, not to friends, not to anyone! You will be admired and respected much more if you don't. If your friends really wants to know, let them learn the hard way as you did.
Never Repeat A techique/ story- Never repeat a techique/ story to the same audience (set w/e). When you do, your audience knows what its about, and what may have seemed like a cool story, fun game at 1st may be disappointinly sound rehearsed or boring the 2nd time.
You Can Learn PU- Most PUAs, gurus learned from watching/hanging with naturals, and if you did it, so can you. It doesn't take any inborn skills or speical physical characteristics to do PU well. If you can read this now, you certainly have enough intelligence do it, and if you can tie your shoelace you definatly have enough coordination to do this and then some!
Stay with it!- Don't be discouraged! PU isn't nearly as difficult as people make it. Just remember the 1st move is always the toughest, but once you get to do it well- and start to live it that way- the rest will come easy. Relax, and keep at it and your on your way to what is far and away a great hobby/lifestyle.
Don't Neglect your Body- Take care of your body. It doesn't have to be in exceptional condition to attract women. But it doesn't hurt working out etc. It'll only make you healthier and more attractive.
Pratice is What Its all about- Remember, the 3 basic rules of any art are pratice, pratice and pratice again!
Enjoying Yourself- If there 2 words which sum up the very essence of PU, they are Enjoy Yourself. PU isn't a new revoulutionary thing but whats the use of doing it unless you enjoy yourself, let go, try new experiences, and in the end have fun.
Hope it helps
