Worth the money if you wear jackets often and don't mind a 3 pound brick on your wrist. | I'm sure it will get better the more you use it. I've read about guys who work that sum'bitch to do miracles. And there's no rule saying you have to use it only a certain way either...
That said, quick plug for Jay Sankey's instructional DVD Anytime, Anywhere. All impromptu effects, most of them done with borrowed effects. My personal favorites that I've managed to get performance ready: Printed Matters: With a borrowed book or newspaper and a deck of cards, the magician reads the mind of a spectator to learn a specific selected word from the printed page. Heat of the Moment: With a borrowed pen and rubber band, two impossible penetration are achieved. Magnetic: Turn one card into a powerful magnet to attract a freely selected card with a stunner of a closer. Apparition: A thought of card is picked out of an imaginary deck and folded up twice. The magician closes his hands empty, but when he opens them again, a real folded up card is between his palms. And lo and behold, it's the thought of card. Somebody Else's Money: A borrowed deck and a borrowed dollar bill with two spectators make for one of the freakiest bets ever devised around psychic powers. Past, Present, Future: A true spectacle of mentalism that can elicit some truly intense reactions as you read the mind of a spectator to get a thought of the past, the present, and the future. Perennial: I have a new favorite "psychic powers test." |

| | | Instead of exposing effects, I'm going to post a couple of reviews for some of my favorite products that have gotten me killer reactions. Crash Course in Cards a.k.a. Crash-1
Produced by Ellusionist, this is the first in the two-part Crash series. It teaches many classic sleights and utilities ranging from the simple mechanic's grip to the top palm and false swing cut. It also teaches a handful of effects, my favorite of which being Card in Hand. Picture telling a girl that she's going to do the magic. She picks a card and the deck is shuffled up. You hand her a card other than her to serve as a locator. You riffle through the deck, and she uses her locator card to stop you. However, when you do the big reveal, you've screwed up and can't find her card... until you ask her which one it was. As it turns out, her card has found its way into her hand.
The teaching on here is extremely intuitive and makes it easy to pick things up and start practicing immediately. You'll still have to practice, but you'll have a lot of new sleights to play around with and come up with your own routines.
Highly recommended for beginners. D'Lites
God, I love these things! Imagine being able to reach out and produce a mote of light from literally anywhere. The gimmick may look impractical, but the routines are meant to be performed in low light and kept in constant motion, so the possibility of the gimmick being spotted is slim. You want to practice with them extensively to keep your timing tight as well as get used to wearing the gimmick.
D'Lites can be found at any magic retailer, and a pair run for an average of about 25 US dollars. When you're wearing these, women open you.
If you practice magic, you really should get a pair of these. Ghost Bills
Andrew Mayne is a weird one to say the least. Here, he has created a wonderful impromptu bill penetration effect. You borrow two bills of any denomination (or currency) and fold them up. In a highly visual 3-phase routine, you proceed to pass the bills through one another as if they immaterial.
There are some angles to watch, but once you get "the move" down, no one will suspect a thing. The thing to remember here is that this routine requires subtlety. Do almost all of your talking at the beginning and let the sight of the bills passing through each other speak for itself.
This can be done anytime, anywhere and if performed properly, it absolutely kills. It's very easy to learn and accessible to all skill levels. For those reasons alone, it's worth your time. |

| | | Let me help you with your Magic I'm new here but I've been browsing around. I'm a professional magician and I'm surprised at how many discussions there are in here about magic. So I figured I might able to be of some help.
Now I'm not saying that I'm going to teach how to do everything anyone asks how to do. Some things I can teach but for the most part I'm offering help with what you might already now. For instance if you do use a "trick" and are having trouble with it. I might be able to give you some advice. Or if there's a trick you'd like to do I might be able to figure it out or point you to a reference where you could learn it.
Just top show I'm actually a magician and not just some kid claiming to be because he knows a few tricks. My site is magicjax.com. You can search youtube and find a number of videos of me performing.
Anyway, just though I'd offer this. I'm sure I'll learn a thing or two here so this is my way of giving back.

| | | I would absolutely love any kind of explanation about tricks that include items disappearing.
Coins, Watches, Rings, Bracelets - Anything that a girl can wear. [No, they don't wear CARDS.]
After doing the trick you can say something like "Oh, your not getting it back - its was ugly anyways." \ "Oh, getting it back? Uhh.. i didn't read about that part.. " |

| | | The basic sleight of hand move for vanishing small objects is called "The French Drop". Google "french drop" and I'm sure you'll find many refferences to it.
When doing these kinds of "vanish" moves it's important to make your actions natural. Don't treat it like you're doing a sleight of hand move. Treat it as if you're simply putting the coin in the other hand.
Now for a psychological way to take a couple of objects from her. Barrow two objects from here, "Can I see that watch and that ring?". Examine them and make some comments aboutb them. Maybe comment about what they are made of or how they look. Then say something along the lines of, "This is a gold watch and this is a silver ring. Which one did you give me?" They'll reply "I gave you both of them".
Put them in you pocket as you say, "Well thank you".
You just made me realise something. I do a watch steal (Take their watch without them knowing). I bet I could get a lotof use from that. What would you do after taking their watch? I'm new to this forum and I don't know much about "The method" yet.

| | | Depends when you use it.
If you use it on A2 - combine a neg after the trick.
If you use it on A3 - get a compliance test out of it, something like "Watches are for people that need to know the time constantly, these people are often really busy - Are you one of those people?", A hook - a question, if she baits and answers the question [BlaBlaBla i use it because i'm busy \ because i like the color \ blablalba] then you can Reel it and give the watch back to her, "Hmm, yeah - i don't want to ruin your life and get you homeless, you wont have money for makeup and you'll look terrible, then i wouldn't be able to show you on public!" |

| | | Magic to pick up chicks Sorry for the title of this thread but let me explain why I picked that titled. I belong to many magicians forums and it never fails to find a discussion titled something along the line of that.
I'm new to this forum but I've already spent some time teaching or sharing advice on magic in here. While I was reading around in here an idea hit me. I'd like to ask what you all think of it.
The idea is to find someone to work with me on this (Such as a master pick up artist). I'm new to "The method" but I've been a magician for almost 20 years. The idea is to put my knowledge of magic and a PUA knowledge together to form a book or possibly even a video on how to get the best use out of magic to pick up girls.
For example I could teach the fine points of getting the tricks or stunts to work and the PUA can develop the best way to present it for this purpose. It's a lot different performing magic for the point of being an entertainer like I do then to do magic to meet girls. The difference of course is how you present it and the reason behind doing it.
Search for some of my posts to see a few of the things I've taught so far. It'll also help that I know a lot of professional magicians so I have plenty of people to call on if I need help with this project if it does come about. I'd just need to find a PUA to provide his knowledge on it.
What do you think of this idea? Judging by all the posts I've read of people looking for something like this it seems to be something that people would be interested in.
(I decided to put that poll up right before I hit the submit buttong to submit this post. I don't know if it'll be helpful but it might let me know if there's much interest in this idea) | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
