I've doing a lot of thinking about the IOI-A2-A3 paradigm and after a year or this stuff I think it's all flawed. When you're in a set you don't actually go from A2 to A3 or withhold IOIs and stuff. It's actually more about value. If I could have it my way I'd scrap the whole system. Here's what I've come up with after working on this for a while. I think Mehow was damn close with his Chase Cycling model, but I think this is a much simpler and easier to understand structure. Plus it's easy to use because it applies across the board. Mehow's 3 minute attraction and Chase Cycling seem to be at odds and that's something I always had a problem with. This new methodology I came up with is very similar to CC, but it continues all the way through the interaction from start to finish. So here it is:
Value --> Test --> Reward w/ value... rinse, repeat
Value: Replaces traditional A2 and is comprised of IOIs/compliments,
kino, DHVs, and BT spikes. You can give value to yourself though DHVs, but the really cool aspect is that by giving value to others that value reflects back onto you. People see this when you bring others up. In other words by making others feel good your own value increases.
Test: Replaces A3 and is essentially compliance testing, setting hoops, and asking questions that would normally be reserved for A3 and rewarded with your own IOIs. When women comply you move on to the next step. If not, then you withdraw and they don't get rewarded. If the reacted especially negative you match their response with an IOD of your own.
Reward: Value is given in direct response of passing the compliance test and can be directly followed by another test. By rewarding their compliance with value in essence you are giving them an IOI.
Using this structure you'll never have to worry about which stage you're in. No more waypoints and testing the waters for compliance. It's all integrated. Plus you'll almost never miss an IOI because it cues you in to when to look for them, which is right after you give value. That's the most common time IOIs occur.
When you give value the woman will respond 1 of 3 ways: positively, negatively, or neutrally. This is your cue to what kind of test you'll follow the value with and is basically microcalibration 101. Don't follow value that gets a negative response with a large test because she won't be likely to pass it. Still give the test, but make it much smaller than if she responded positively to the value you gave. This keeps the interaction moving forward.
Furthermore, in this model at the subtextual level, value and IOIs are going to pass both ways. You calibrate your testing based on the woman's reaction to the value you're giving. Again, after giving value watch for a response. That's when you'll see those IOIs. Similarly a woman will IOI or IOD after you test. Watch for them as well as that is your cue for the type of value (or lack thereof) to give as a follow-up to your testing.
There's a certain threshold you need to reach before shifting into comfort. How long it takes to get there will vary from set to set. When you get to that point only then do you shift into comfort, but you'll still need to follow this progression, albeit subdued or toned down some so it doesn't get in the way of building rapport.
The only way to find out where that threshold is and what it looks like is to spend time in the field and it varies per person. It might take you 5 minutes to reach it regularly, while it could take me 10 minutes. And calibration levels can affect this time as well. Once you get to that point where you can feel mutual attraction, that's when it's time to shift into comfort. It's hard to articulate that sensation, but when you know you just *know*.
Also, after a minute or two into the set start introducing sexualized value--sexual
kino-based routies are a good way to start, but don't be afraid of being sexual verbally. This is especially important if you're looking for a SNL.
