Girls who dont get banter lines

When you walk up to a girl and deliver what feels like a great banter line with good delivery and get a flat look back is it just the delivery or energy? I kind of got the feeling that she just did not understand.

btw im very new to this, normally I've been the quiet guy over in the corner / just play pool when i go to bars.

yea i get this a lot

so usually in a very scarcastic voice explain the joke how i would to a child.. then when she gets it i clap and laugh at her. usually works perfectly.

I have found that sometimes it's as if their brains don't quite absorb what you are saying / asking at first, especially in a loud club with all sorts of visual stimulus and alcohol on top of that.

We all experience this during normal converation, "What did you say?" even tho you know what they said, your brain wasn't 'ready'... or something. Don't let it faze you.
