I play piano. If a girl hears me play, I've basically won her over. But one problem with playing the piano, it's not exactly a portable instrument. This applies to a lot of things - You can say that you surf, or say that you do martial arts, or say that you play an instrument as a DHV, but DOING these things has a much greater impact. How can you show off those things any time, any place?
iPod Movies.
Got an iPod that plays video? Then make a movie of yourself performing your "non-portable" DHV, and copy it to your iPod. You can use this in almost every set. To anchor your DHV, just steer the conversation to your movie's topic. If it's music, then mention "Speaking of music, I put this video together with my friends, check it out" and take out your iPod.
Some DHV video tips:
* Create a "highlight reel" version of your video. The "highlight reel" is 15-30 seconds tops, and like a tv commercial or highlight reel, focuses on the snap bang interesting stuff. Good before the hook point or for ADD types.
* Create an "extended play" version of your video, 2-3 minutes tops. This one you can use after the hook point.
* DHV spikes - Look for opportunities to add other DHV spikes to your video. You can star hot girls in your video, film some nice/exotic locations, etc. Opportunities are limitless.
*
Kino op after isolation - "headphone spooning", where you both wear an earbud from the same pair of headphones. You can put your faces cheek to cheek and put your arm around her waist while you both watch.
* "Directors commentary" - you can drop behind-the-scenes info while the video is playing. "that song was inspired by a girl I know"
* If you've got other interesting stuff on your iPod like pictures, it's easy to transition to a photo routine, or maybe another cool funny video you've made.
* This is great for 2-sets, your iPod becomes a pocket wingman. The video can occupy your obstacle while you game your target. Then give the target your video and build rapport with the obstacle.
* Get feedback from your friends before you show your video to HBs. Is it interesting? How does it portray you?
Pros:
* DHV - you've got a video iPod, a video camera, and a new computer so you've got money to spend
* DHV - you're tech savvy because you made your own video and loaded it on your iPod
* DHV - if your video is well-produced, you've got some filmmaking skills
Cons:
* If your video is boring, it becomes a DLV. If you've got no film skills, have a friend who knows what he's doing help you out. Or you can learn. Nothing beats a course, but a couple of decent books might help. You don't need the Hollywood stuff on the list, but the rest of the books are gold:

* Big cash investment. If you don't already have a video iPod, computer, and video camera, your wallet will be hurtin'.
* If it's a loud environment, they won't be able to hear any sound from the headphones. If the sound is important, this is a good excuse to isolate. "Hey it's loud over here and we can't hear the headphones, let's go somewhere quieter"
* Easy to over-do it and seem gimmicky. Just use the iPod once (DHV, then maybe photo routine or another video) then put it away.
