Question Recommended Reading on NLP???

Hey guys, do any of you have any recommendations for learning NLP and applying it to not only yourself, but to others as well?

There's so many books on the subject and I just wanted to know which is best

the best book to start with for understanding NLP is Joseph o'conor's- introducing NLP.
you need to understand the basics of NLP and the terms before you start working on other people. it is a very complex system that needs to be understood from the ground up. there is no fast way around understanding peoples deep physiology/psychology.

if you dont want to buy "frogs into princes" every library should hold it. thats lot of the therapy side. its mainly about therapy and how people react and how you can deal with them. basically the entire book is a therapy session scripted into a book.

NLP is a large subject and I think it depends on what you want to gain from NLP, whether that be for therapy, people interaction or whatever.

One book I would reccommend is 'NLP in 21 days' by Harry Alder and Beryl Heather, which may sound like an introductory book but is actually quite in depth and easy to understand.

I've personally learnt a lot about NLP from watching videos - it makes it come to life and shows application to it. NLP practioners actually advocate going to courses and stuff but these are generally pricey, and you can get tons of stuff free on the internet. Just a quick search on youtube can allow you to learn a lot.

Any of you NLP buffs mind checking out two of my threads on emotional control? Let me know if I'm on track or way, or whatever. I'd really appreciate it.

-Control your emotions

-Pleasures vs. Punishment

Thanks a lot!

I think its good that you try to elicite heightened and variable emotions with woman - ladies are more into feelings and emotional stuff than men are, so if you are able to influence them around her then she will definately be more inclined to hang around of you.

It's also good that you've conciously chosen to think and act more "positively", but I do think that you should not completely not to do things you said that make you feel uncomfortable, such as with lying. It's important to have some freedom and flexibility with how you act around people - for example, if your boss said if you liked his new haircut and you didn't, if would would obviously be better if you lied and said you did.

Overall, yeah it's definately good that you look become 'positive' in what you do, but don't try to eradicate 'negative' thoughts or actions. Its generally better to allow that freedom if when/it is deemed necessary for a particular task.
