I text a girl (HB8) yesterday who I met a while ago to innitiate a convo and see if I can get things going in the right direction as I failed last time! (Been about a year or so ago).

Just went for the usual AFC: "Hey, how's things, etc..." Got no reply until this morning...

HB: Heya, so sorry I didnt text back the other day. Had such a hectic week. feel really bad now though lol hope ur ok anyways and speak soon xxx

ME: Tell me about it! I've hardly had chance to sit down myself! U ok bab? Upto much today? xx

HB: awwww what you been upto nice? Nah just relaxing today, how about u? X

ME: Well I've mainly been helping my mate with DIY on his house, then hung out there last night. I'm off ot the gym in a bit, then gonna do some art I think! xx

HB: Ooooo what a fun life you lead lol u sure no how to have fun x

Me: You taking the piss? x

HB: oh yes lol

ME: I know you're jealous really u dont have to hide it from me! Besides, we all know you're the boring one! lol

HB: haha if you say so

ME: I do

HB: Haha ok if you say so

ME: I told you i do! lol you need to pay more attention, all that boredom must be taking it's toll

ME: Man, you're replies suck ur not very good at this whole conversation thing are you?

HB: Nah I'm only a dumb blonde you see lol x

ME: That's ok, you can make it up to me when you'e improved your skills

HB: Haha doubt that's gonna happen soon x


Not really sure where to go from here! I don't want to push too hard and come off as offensive (if I havent already!). interest levels seem to have dropped right down, and the number of kisses on the texts dwindled to nothing too! (I dropped kisses too to compensate, although I probably shouldnt have put ny in the first place!)
She's always been hard work, maybe my game isn't up to scratch? When I first got talking to her we got on really well, and i thought for sure it was gold, but then it just died! Think she's a flaker...

Any feedback and pointers would be greatly appreciated!

I can feel your pain dude. Such uncreative girls suck. If they reply with such a crap, I simply text them something like "Two billion years of evolution and that's the best thing you came up with?!"

I was in the exact same situation Benkei. What still got me a day2 was a solid phone game. Stop texting her, pull your eggs together and call her. Check out Sinn's post on how to properly call a girl. Good luck.

Stop beating a dead horse. You told her she was boring 30 times!!!!! Once or twice, then move on. Don't have to be funny in every text. Ask a few fluff questions. Aim to build compliance and comfort. Pop her with jokes (Only if you have them), but never force jokes that aren't there.

You aren't really leading the interaction anywhere, but at least you have compliance. If she was totally bored she would just stop replying.

Braddock: "Can you be here at noon? More importantly are you part of any union?

Her: "LoL...noon? Why? Union?? No."

Braddock: "Sweeet! We could use an extra hand lifting the heavy stuff. Need cheap labor in case you hurt your back. Don't need a union suing us."

Her: "haha...No way!"

Braddock: "To late, already told them you were coming. I suggest stretching. Can you bring us lunch too? No mayonaise. "


Something like that....Less serious, doesn't require much on her part, leading playfully, playfully seeding the idea of hanging out even if it's rediculous. You will make it more real later.

Thanks for that baddock. I think my main sticking point is moving to different threads, or leading the conversation mainly. I try to think of ways to take it but nothing comes to mind. Guess all I need is more practice.
What's the best way to see the conversation? I mean what mind are you in? Like just having a laugh, do you try to pick out points she said and use them, do you have ideas that you want to try and work into the conversation? If I get stuck on a reply, what's the best thing to do to send a good reply to kick the conversation up a notch?

My general rule is that as long as the teasing is back and forth, you can keep doing it. If the teasing energy sort of fades like it did (and you knew it as soon as it started... "you need to pay more attention, etc.") you need to stack to something else. Just go with something in your head, like "What's your favorite color?" No clever transition needed. Like Braddock said (rumor has it, he knows what he's talking about) throw a little teasing in periodically and when you see a good opportunity, but overall, get talking about something else. Braddock's example is very elegant and clever, using material you already have in the conversation while still advancing the conversation. Perfect. If you're in a situation where that kind of elegance is escaping you, it's alright to just make a non sequiteur jump to another topic. Saying something like "Pennies are such a waste of space," is a much better way to continue the conversation than letting it spiral into an energy vacuum, even though it's not a particularly clever or attractive way to go. It's kind of like you have a hand you don't want in a card game so you reshuffle and draw a new hand. Unless you're not playing at all from your hand, you can reshuffle as frequently as you like, if that makes sense.
