New to the game.

Hello lads.

First off i am from England, and wanting to get into the game.
As i am very new here, i am sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Anyway, i am a generally confident guy, not a bad looker, good build and can attract women every now and again, but i just can't get the close etc. I have had a few girlfriends. If i see a girl i like in a bar/club I either can't pluck up the balls to go over or i just can't think of much to say.

So what my post is all about, asking advice from you guys of where to start looking on this site, for beginners and such, like tutorials and where to begin to get into the game. Any books to recommend? Currently reading Neil Strauss.

I know where you're coming from man, and I wish you luck with this. As far as reading material is concerned I too started with "The Game" but it's not overly useful as a manual in and of itself. Great story though.

I highly recommend "Magic Bullets". I don't know how much you look around the websites, but they are constantly shilling this thing. It's all such a huge sales pitch I felt like it had to be a scam of some kind. Still, I decided to take the plunge and buy it. It's a little pricy as far as books go, and I'm not sure it lives up to all the hype, but it's definitely a must have book.

:O Game doesn't work like that and I really think this website isn't going to help you. I've seen it a few times, but I'm pretty sure anything you gain will be just for placebo effect.

PUA is a very specific way of looking at game. It has almost nothing to do with real game. A GREAT analogy to it is that normal game is like rock music. Being a player is like rap music. PUA? That's like Japanese rock (In America).

So unless you are the sort of person who thinks along the same lines as the niche information provied here, you'd be miles wayy better off getting that information more socially.

So many people come here looking for a "fix", a one size fits all solution, and while because of the position of some of the people here, we have great skills in pretending to give you solutions that we act like they work, and being convinging... really unless you're the right person, in the right niche and you understand the way of thinking presented here then this site isn't going to help at all other than as a conversation peice.

The first huge problem is that you are reading "The Game" for pickup advice. That's a sweeping false association, which shows a deplorable connection with the PUA way of thinking. While it could be a mistake to point that out, either way the game isnt going to help you pick anyone up any more than watching a documentary on brain surgery will help you preform it. that's not something that i'm just saying, that's something i've brought up with the writer of that book (Neil Strauss), and while he doesn't agree with me, he does give some credit to that point really. that's the wrong book to learn how to pu and the fact that you're not running away from it onto something better identifies the lack of connection with the PU way of thinking which i mentioned.

really though i don't think pu is right for you. i think that you can be just addicted to PUs media personality, which actually was a big component of the book "the game", but PUing is something that you can't imagine. this can be an interesting asset, but either way take a good, long and hard look at yourself before committing here.
