Default Long hair/highlights + earring...okay?

I just got my first ear piercing and it's a cheap zirconium starter earring (you know, shiny like a diamond, but 1/45th the price). I have to wear it for six weeks so the piercing doesn't heal over.

When I asked for an opinion on it, my older female boss tells me that she thinks that with long hair I shouldn't have a shiny earring to "pull her focus" away from my hair. My hair is brown with some caramel and blond highlights...what do you guys think? Will it be too much? Or can a musician identity pull it off?

I mean, honestly, I'm stuck with it either way for these six weeks, but I can always cut my hair if the long + earring thing holds true.

Oh feel free to ignore that. I didn't feel like shaving for my last day at work, haha.

Just the earrings and the hair please.

They're both fine. I really like the hair, and the earring isn't enough to really steal focus. One unrelated suggestion I have is that you should work on getting a tan. It will really bring it all together.

Don't take offense, I'm just telling you like it is.

Highlights scream gay.

Your hair is a big part of your personality. Your hair is saying this about you: "I'm a gay, immature, myspace-loving, mtv-watching teenager".

It looks incredibly generic because every kid your age is doing it.

Long hair is great but you have to do something with it. Sloppy, uncombed, unstyled hair is not fashionable. If you want to see great long hair styles, check out GQ or any of the looks Tom Cruise did for years.

Check out these:

That is long hair done right!

The earring is fine. You'll stop wearing it when you hit 21... at least I did.

Groom your hair and you'll be all set.

Your hair is the right length to do something with it. Go to a salon / barber whatever the fuck and just ask look and get a feel for what would look good on you because that hair really doesn't.

I like the earing though. !

Peace
