Default Chest fat

Hi there,

I used to be pretty fat, about 90kg for 1m78. I have lost most of my belly fat and ass fat, so now i m down to 73kg. Wich is actually a weight i m satisfied with (I am built pretty broadly).

There is however one problem I have, I have fat left on my chest, so when I wear tightish clothes, it looks like I have breasts . This is a huge hit to my body language (since I cant help but stand a bit hunched to hide it).

I have gotten some advice to do bench presses and push-ups, but I m not really convinced, since fat never translates into muscle, or does it ?

Does anyone have any explanation / remedy for this ?

Cheers guys !

you may have mild Gynecomastia

try limiting environmental estrogens, work out properly, and shoot for lower body fat, see what happens before resorting to any surgery

Find out your body fat percentile. If it's not gyno you can probably just lose some fat (not just weight) and it'll go away.

or at least if you work out and get down to 8% body fat and they don't go away, you'll have nice perky man boobs, so it's a win win situation

If you don't have clearly defined abs it's probably just bodyfat. Cut more and then see.

See your doctor, they'll probably get a blood test to test your hormone levels.

Don't want to bring bad news, but I had the same problem. My tits were pretty big; turns out it wasn't fat, it was Gynecomastia.

So I had to have an operation to get rid of it. I've got a couple of scars on my chest now, but that's nothing compared to how I felt before.

I honour you for openly talking about it though, it took me about 3-4 years to even slightly mention it before having the balls to actually do something about it and seeing the doctor.

If you need any more info or anything, just PM me. Same goes for anyone else with the same problem.

Don

You need to build muscle to break down fat. Lift heavy weights, get enough protein in your diet, and don't hunch.

spot training (i.e. working your chest muscles to burn chest fat) is a myth, it doesnt work. when you burn fat, you burn it from your whole body at once, not just one place. running 3 to 5 miles per day will help you drop weight quickly. working out your chest will help to lift it and can make some of that fat look like pectoral muscle, but it's not going to burn the fat, so you need to do the chest exercises AND running.

also to lose more weight, monitor your caloric intake. the normal diet for an adult is about 2000calories per day. your body naturally burns at least 1200/day just to survive, so if you can keep your diet to about 1600calories per day, and then burn 500+ calories per day from running or walking, then you'll have a negative net calories for the day and lose weight.

the trick to losing weight through dieting is to eat lots of tiny meals/snacks and no larger or normal size meals. have half of a turkey sandwich with mustard (or an equivalently small amount of food) every 3 hours as snacks and meals, and maybe an apple or orange every now and then. if you're really serious about losing weight, there is no need to have more than 200 calories at any time you eat. if you have 7 meals per day of 200calories, you're only ingesting 1400 for the day, and thats just enough to survive on, so you'll burn some fat just from normal daily life. (through in an extra piece of fruit before you workout so i dont get light headed)

good luck!
