| | | Does anyone here wear an eye-patch? I injured my left eye the other day and had an epiphany. Having an eye-patch, or a cast, or gauze or something like that is a form of pea||||ing. Does anyone have any experience with medical related pea||||ing? How did it work, and what didn't work about it? Thanks.

| | | I remember in elementary school when a kid would break his arm all the other kids would sign his cast. Then he'd be like, "Look at me, look at all the friends I have." I always thought it was lame but most people thought it was cool. I don't know if that is just for kids though or applies to real people. LOL.

| | | I think it will definitely get people talking to you, since its unusual.
And if anybody tries to give you shit be like "dude, I almost went ||||ing blind for life(lie!), and you're going to make fun of something like that? Grow the |||| up." and he will be destroyed by anybody with half a sense of decency.

| | | I always open people with casts, and offer to sign it for them. Since everything that was funny in grade school is funny again.

| | | slick rick [the rapper] wears an eyepatch for medical reasons. he dresses really snazzy too.
he might overdo it when he performs, but its congruent with his style and personality.
i don't think most of us can get away with dressing like him though.
as for medical related pea||||ing...i tend to injure and cut myself alot due to breakdancing and open water dives.[i get cut up real badly on the rocks] so i often wrap my hands or whatever is cut up in waterproof medical tape. it sticks out, and people always ask me what happened to my _______...in which i would respond with a DHV story. but sometimes when its my palms or knuckles wrapped up in bandages, i feel like i have to go fight somebody haha.

| | | This is before most of everyone's time here but my claim to fame in the community was that I was the first guy that got his ass kicked while sarging. Prior to me anyone getting beaten up while sarging was just a fear that no one ever experienced. Anyway - I got stomped pretty bad and almost lost my left eye. I had to wear an eye patch for two months and at the time thought permanently.
I wouldnt do medical gauze or anythign tacky like that but there are some really nice leather eye patches you can get online. Get some of those. And just conduct your sarge as normal - dont make a big deal about having an eye patch - but you will be majorly pea||||ed - everyone everywhere you go out will notice you. If you act normal and comfortable with it you will be socially validating yourself.
Also come up with a funny wise ass story about how you lost your eye before you eventually tell the girl the truth.

| | | I just got a cast on my right arm over the weekend. (Yes, 25 and broke a bone while bike riding, lol.) I spent Sat night getting it so don't know how it will go over. But I'll report back after this week in the field.
When some asks my plan is to first give a story that is clearly a lie before giving the real (+embellishment) story. |
