I've thought about this a lot.

I think you could also say that your environment, as well as the people you normally associate with act as anchors. Or at least they help you to reaffirm your "story".

I have a friend of mine who's into this pickup stuff, and whenever he comes home to the city after travelling abroad for a few months, he falls back into old habits and old ways of thinking. I know what you're thinking... post vacation disorder... sure, there's that, but we both know better... there's no reason to act miserable unless we feel we have to, and sometimes it's more than just the "story" in your head that affects your emotions. Even if we know better.

The best way to do that is to occupy yourself with activities that make you feel good, and hang out with people and go to places that do the same.

Oh, question: Do you think it was easier for you to find yourself because of your travels, and do you think you could have arrived at this level if you had stayed put in your hometown? Perhaps, but maybe not as quickly?

Anyhoo... I recently gave another friend of mine a copy of the game and if he's not on here already, I'm going to e-mail him this article if you don't mind.
