Hey guys, you should all know the routine where you ask the target to pick a number between 1 and 10 and then you tell them what number you believe they are thinking of (in most cases this is number is 7).
Most of the time it is used for DHV'ing. If you get the number right and use it in conjunction with other cold reading type routines and routines that use truisms it can be great for DHV'ing or just giving the girl something interesting to do which can help make you more interesting to them.
If you get the number wrong it is still usually a fun process for the girl regardless of the outcome but it can be used to your advantage by getting it wrong too.
In A3 or one of the comfort stages getting it wrong can help turn this into a qualifier whilst still being a DHV. Here is an example:
Etude: "Okay, I want you to think of a number between 1 and 10. Got one?
HB: "Yeah, I've got one."
Etude: "Okay. 7."
HB: "Nope it was 4!"
Etude: "Ah. Good, you've passed."
HB: "Huh?"
Etude: "My test. You know, I ask people this question to see how free their mind is. Do you know that the majority of people you ask this will say 7?"
HB: "No?"
Etude: "Well the fact you chose a different number suggests you are a bit different from most people. I'm willing to bet that you're fairly creative in your own ways, even if you perhaps don't know it yourself. I like that, creativity and unpredictability is great in a person.

"
So, you got the number wrong but you can still make it into a DHV and now you have a qualifier added in. The fact you were doing a test already puts you in a high value position and makes you a bit more interesting and also the fact she passed the test means she has qualified herself to you which can allow you to show some IOI's.
Whenever you are using routines always have contingency plans so you can work them to your advantage no matter the outcome.
