Default Home Cookin'

I've found that one of the most exciting and fun things to do with a chick when you get her back to her place or yours is cooking. It doesn't have to always be complicated, but is something that drivesthem wild.

I put this post up to share what we in the restaurant business call "panty dropper" meals. So, leave some ideas and recipies that yal have tried and work.

Here goes.....

"Stuffed Figs"

All you need are:
  • Figs (6 will do)
  • either goat of feta cheese (your choice)
  • Beacon
  • Toothpicks

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut an "x" shape half way down into the top of the figs so that they can be opened. Stuff with the cheese of your choice. Wrap the beacon around the figs and secure with a toothpick. Bake for 5 to 8 minutes, until cheese is gooy.

I have lots more, and I'll post as I have time, but I wanna see what yal have as well. Later

Damn that sounds tasty.

I want to see more.

Thanks for the spell check CA, I can't believe I missed that one.

Here is one that works everytime I've tried it.

"Pork Chops with Blueberries"
  • 4 thickcut pork chops (at least an inch, and as good a quality as you can afford)
  • All-purpose flour (for dusting)
  • 2 TBSP butter
  • 3 TBSP good olive oil
  • 3/4 cup red wine
  • 2 3/4 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup honey

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Dust pork chops in the AP flour. Heat the butter and olive oil in a frying pan. Add the pork chops and cook, turning occasionally, until they're brown all over. Pour the red wine into the pan and reduce for 5 to 8 minutes. In a food porcessor or blender blend the berries and honey until it becomes a smooth liquid. Now place the pork chops in a baking dish and pour the red wine in and the add the blueberry mixture on top of the pork. Cover and bake for 15 minutes, after you take it out let it rest for 10 minutes, then eat.

I usually serve this with sauted green beans or asparagus, and a glass of nice red wine.

Note: One shouldn't cook with a wine that they're not willing to drink!

Great recipe man.

Keep up the great work!

P.S. Do you reduce the wine while the chops are still IN the pan?

Yeah, but just for a few minutes.....you don't want the pork to dry out in the pan.

BigDaddyChef, have you tried this one?

slicing strawberries really thin putting them in a champagne flute, or thin wine glass (it looks sexier in nice glassed than a plate or bowl)

spoonful of light sour cream and a little bit of brown or cane sugar on the sprinkled on top. if i got it in the fridge mint leaves as well.... its great. you gotta try this one out if you havent

nice fig recipe BTW. sooooooooooo good!

Figs used to be known as an aphrodisiac and ancient Greeks would have "copulating" rituals when they were harvested.

Thought it was interesting
