Thread: Tongue ring?

I wanted to get a tongue ring for some time now, but i am not much of jewlery guy(no rings, necklaces, or other piercings) so i have been a bit hesitant.

If i am going to do it il make sure i will be taken care of by a professional so a chance for infections and nerve damage should be at its bare minimum. Also based on the research, I found that if one plays with the ring too much there can be tooth damage and bleeding but i dont think that will be much of a problem either.

Now, I understand this ultimately my decision, but i was wondering about your opinion on this matter. as far as the social aspect on this matter, is there any down side to it? I don't really see one. i mean il take it off for work and classy events, but i dont see my friends caring. are there certain implications that are made about a guy with a tongue ring?

I had one when i was in my twenties,two points,yes it can damage the plaque on your teeth,second the tongue is a muscle and as such heals extremely fast.Also depending on your job employers may not be in favour of it,but it is your choice

In my opinion, you really shouldn't look at people who are trying to be different for w/e reason (there are hundreds so im not going to expand on this) as show-offs or idiots. because if this principle applies, then the people who are trying to fit into the society, to look as ordniary citizens are idiots as well for following a certain style they think will benefit them the most as well instead of being who they truly are.


btw, I didnt notice the 'mildly retarded' problem nor clicking in people who had their tongue done after the first two-three weeks, but i will keep that in mind.
