    Just curious how many of y'all have done are currently doing gpp. I am looking for some new routines or ideas tools to utilize etc..

    I am currently doing GPP on my off days hopefully get my body composition looking closer to a George St. Pierre I know my diet is in check using fit day religiously so hopefully with adding more GPP workouts instead of my current 2 day running and 1 day GPP. Also following Nate Green's Built For Show Workouts.

    Calisthenics would be the default if you're new to it, but I'm not sure it's in line with your goals. Check out rossboxing for 1,000,000 awesome GPP ideas.

    Low BF is a function of diet. If you look at natural guys who work at getting really lean (natural bodybuilders), they generally lift weights, do some brisk walking, and diet hard. GPP is not a factor.

    GPP is designed to increase your work capacity. Not really in line with what you're trying to achieve.

    Unless you have access to GSP's pharamcologist, it's going to be nearly impossible to get as big and lean as him. This is a tough goal and consulting with a pro would make sense if you're serious.

    I think GSP's build is attainable naturally, even my sorry old elderly ass could pull that off, but you'd have to be very careful about muscle loss when leaning up.

    Nate's workouts are reasonable, but you'll need to be on a high calorie diet to support the running, GPP and intense weights routines.

    where are you now, height weight, bf, measurements etc?

    GSP fights at what 170 lbs? and i guess that he comes in fairly dehydrated for the weigh ins so maybe he's 180 @ 6% ish

    so he's 170lbs of lean mass? I think that should be your first goal,

    HT: 5'9
    WT: 170 lbs .... Rough estimate seeing that I can't see visible ab definition I'd say about 20% BF Although I do have athletic build similar more to a BJ Penn in that not as Cut Up as GSP but relatively lean just soft around the edges lol.
    When Dehydrated and after doing 30min running I weigh in at 165 lbs I can barely see the top 2 rows of abs visible.
    Circumference Flexed Biceps about 17" (Tape Measure +/- 1 inche) Waist 34" , Chest 39", Quad 23", Calf 13", Forearm 11"

    Your right though I should concentrate on adding more muscle mass before trying to lean out just hoping by adding the GPP while consuming the extra calories I wont be putting any more fat than I need to and still improve my strength and conditioning simultaneously.

    try it for a couple of months, depends how well you recover, it may be too much for a natural. ensure that the weights get priority

    you have a long way to go, Lyle has some good info on muscle gain here

    Everyone should be doing GPP. It's the basis for all athletic endeavours. However, the frequency is entirely dependent on what phase you're in, when your off/on season is, what your goals are.

    You can take a look at the Westside Barbell program for a great example of a well-rounded GPP program. If you take "GPP" to refer to more conditioning-based work, then just up the RE days. If you're closer to your "action" phase (or on-season, competition, etc), then it's much more likely that you want to just reel it down to one conditioning day a week in addition to your strength/power days.

    Thanks Eternal I just got my hands on the West-Side Barbell eBook of Methods I must say I am quite impressed and am tempted to switch my current training method ( currently following T-Nation's Nate Green Built For Show) along with using GPP routines from Rosstraining.com although I have heard a major problem among young lifters is switching programs to often without sticking with it until you see no more improvements in your numbers. To emphasize why I am doing GPP is to improve my condition so when it comes to training days I can 1) Lift at higher intensity/volume and 2) Improve overall body comp.

    BFS is probably better for beginners than Westside, tbh. I'm a diehard Westsider, but I've also gone through almost every program out there, and I'm a competitive powerlifter, so.. yeah.
