The Blazer: to wear or not to wear

What's your opinion on wearing a blazer out to the club? I personally like it but I've heard some negitive comments on it. One girl said i "dressed to much like them"..."Them" being the guys from season 1 of the pick up artist.

I love the look but the last thing I want to do is come off as try hard.

my opinion is that it doesn't matter if your game is solid. :P

i'd say yes to blazers at the club. i personally wear blazers/sports jackets/etc in everyday use...so i have a different mindset when wearing a blazer to a club. i mainly use it to keep me warm when i'm outside.

Sure, do it. Guys from The Pick Up Artist have covered quite a few styles over the two seasons, and they did so because those things were in style. You can't opt out of all the things that are in style because of that show. Just don't say you completed a caper or ask if anyone saw the fight outside and you'll be fine.

Bro blazers rock...resounding yes from me
so the girl gives u a neg - no big deal - the fact is she is engaging in convo isnt she? when you are peacocking sometimes the comment is not positive - the point is people are noticing you. A good blazer will do just that - make people notice you.

She says you look too much like "them" - I would neg her right back - "you look at the show? your a little couch potato aren't you?"

I think blazer in the club is a nice touch of class.

I absolutely LOVE Marc Ecko blazers

I'm with you on the Ecko blazers. Ecko also used to make custom suits that had cool graffiti prints stenciled on them. Super cool and totally unique, and the price wasn't too bad. I wish I had gotten one of those in white back when I saw them. The coat by itself would have been sweet. I wonder if you can still get them...

Well-fitting blazers add a touch of class and sophistication. They change the whole look. I try to wear them as much as possible. A blazer and a shirt with a medium spread or button-down collar without a tie is a cool "I care enough to look good but don't care enough to wear a tie" look.

Make sure blazers are well-fitting. It's all about the fit.

I try to as well. What are classic, versatile colors other than navy blue and grey?

I have a brown corduroy blazer that is money. Looks great with earth tones or any shade of blue (especially baby blue).

I also really like black with light colored pinstripes or solid white, but I don't own either of those... just have them on my list of things I need to eventually buy.

WHITE stands out ALOT if you are trying to go for the peacocking look. it stands out so much, that i feel self-conscious wearing it in places that are not a nightclub. [i'm used to dark colored blazers]

one of my favorite blazers/jackets i own is olive green.

try experimenting with other types of materials/patterns too. pin-stripes has never failed me. and i have a really classy looking navy-blue houndstooth pattern that works nicely with my dress shirts.

get a blazer that compliments the shirts/pants you already have or plan on getting.

also...i'd recommend scarves/beanies to go with your blazers if you are planning on using them for everyday use. [blazers don't keep you as warm as hoodies do]
