    Complete Makeover - Need Advice!

Hey everyone. So I've decided that I need a new hairstyle as part of my makeover. I've never really gotten a professional style, just went to random barbers and always come out disappointed. 2 months ago I brought a pic of a style I wanted and the barber gave me a totally different crappy haircut. So I've been growing it out for the past 2 months and now I need to:

    A) Choose a nice hairstyle that would fit me.
    B) Find a place that can give me the style I want at a decent price ($15-$45).
    C) Learn how to maintain it with the right products, etc.

So, I've posted a few pics of myself so you guys can get an idea of my head shape, hair texture (Picasa Web Albums - coolremo - self pics). I've also posted a few pics of the type of style I want (Picasa Web Albums - coolremo - hairstyles). I'd like to go for the short-medium purposely messy style. Though it has to still be appropriate and not too wild as I have a finance internship where things are pretty conservative.

SO, I'm asking for advice on how to go about getting the haircut that would look good on me (sexy but not too wild). I'd really appreciate everyone's opinion. Also if anyone knows of a good place in NYC with reasonable prices, please let me know. Thanks.

You can get that at justacut for 10 bucks, bro.

Its all about the product you put in your hair to hold it in that position that is IMPORTANT.

Get yourself some BED HEAD. Take a picture of what you want to the barber and tell him to make it happen.

    like that kinda
it fades from little or no hair hair to more hair, called a 'fade'
the last 1 is what u get if u tell the barber u want a fade
    the others are just variations

You live in the Bronx, take the subway to Manhattan and start looking for stylists, dont look for a barber.

I always go to a woman stylist and tell her that i want her to have some fun, and give her a rough idea of what i'm looking for.

I always tell her to cut texture into my hair.

Hey man, thanks for the advice. I basically want the short-medium controlled messy look. I went to a salon yesterday and asked the stylist if she could give me this haircut - Picasa Web Albums - hairstyle (showing her the picture). She told me that my hair is thicker and wavier than this dude's, so to get a similar look my hair would have to be cut shorter and then use a wax/fiber product to get the messy look. Just how do I make sure that she cuts my hair with the 'texture' and proper lengths/layers and not just end up getting a short cut thats uniform? Also approximately what lengths do you think it should be on the top and sides (my last barber basically cut off all my hair though I showed him a pic- so I feel that being very clear with the stylist will reduce chances of a mistake). Thanks bro.

  10. deff go to a stylist, if u cant find a good one ask ur girlfriends where they go and go there, its what i do and girls love me cause they are like omg u go to zoeys?! but i also do the same thing sundance kid suggests, tell them i trust em and they should make me look gorgeous they have yet to let me down.

but with the pictures u posted i would deff go with the fade look ur hairs too thick to texture easily
