I bought some "slim fit" express jeans which were the same size as a "relaxed fit" pair I already own. Weird...

Add me onto the "muscular/athletic build" type. I'm not fat, but I have good thighs and somewhat of a butt. I'm not skinny like the models in catalogs at all.

My suit size is 42R, and I often have to slightly adjust the pants to 37R waist (usual waist size is38).

Anyway, interested in what brands you guys with my problem wear. I had Diesel Quaratts in 38/32 which I think have stretched a little, but are now so wide I can't wear without a belt. OTOH, I have monarchy's in 38/33 that fit perfect.

Does the rise affect the size and fit? Does wether they are bootcut or straight leg affect it either?

I'm 5'10"/200 lbs, for those of you in the 36-38 waist range please holla.

    Regards,

I had a similar problem. Just make sure you go for a pair that has has a mid/high rise and pay attention to the measurements. I bought a pair of KMW 2010 which are straight leg and looser round the thighs. Cost more than average but having a pair of jeans that fit me well was worth it.

    Regards,
Similar problem here. I actually had to cut down so I could fit into decent jeans. I was 6'3" 235 and now I am about 207. I am a 33/35 ideally, but 34/34 is usually the only pair that is close enough. I usually have to get relaxed fit as well otherwise they look really tight.

Diesel Zathan is all I will buy now. Got same cut with different materials. Fit like a dream, work with all shoes and last forever.

My GF works for Levi and knows TOO much about them so for a quick bit of advice - your NEVER supposed to was jeans (not that thats likely with the way my night go) - but if you have to then ALWAYS turn then inside out.

In my experience, all other things being equal (waist/inseam and style) it seems that the American brands are looser than the European brands (I still love my diesels though).

It's also been my experience that bootcut seems to be looser than straight leg.

God knows, I asked the same question. Reckon wash them less and always turn them inside out when washing. Alternating makes it easier too
