    own place versus shared flat!

    so, I am moving to a new city in few months and have now started looking for a place.
    I am wondering if I should get my own flat or rent a nice room in a shared flat.
    I am foreigner living in Austria and don't speak the local language. I have managed to make a fantastic social life in my current city but this was mostly due to the fact that I lived in a shared accommodation .. so while living in a shared accommodation is good for social life, private flats give you more privacy and more comfort when you are inviting girls over.

    So which one do you think is better from the dating side and why?
    I will actually also be turning 28 soon, so am thinking maybe its time to get on my own. But on the other hand, I remember reading about the whole project Hollywood and what so on and the idea actually appeals to me.

    I guess you could try the shared option until you perfect your pulling techniques or at least you grow a social circle of friends big enough to warrant going for a place of your own. Even better is a place of your own close to where your social circles is.

    Both have their inherent advantages and disadvantages. Whether to go with private or shared accommodation will depend greatly on the specific living conditions and personalities you'll be sharing with.

    Personally, having lived in both shared and private accommodation, I would go with private every single time, as then I have total control over who does what, what time things happen, etc. But I can see the social benefits of shared accommodation, I just think that shared accommodation with really good flatmates is pretty rare. I think you should maybe try out something short term (whichever you prefer) and then see how it goes from there.

    jah..I think starting with a shared flat is a good idea. I have found some flats with female inhabitants. Normally when you have female flat mates the place tend to be tidy and clean as they force the dues to take care. Also found a place with only 3 female living and am gonna be the only guy involved. This sound pretty awesome from the game side.

    If you end up doing anything with any of them you can kiss your chances of picking up any other girls goodbye

    @raiyans 3 girls and one guy ???
    I'm sure you'll think of a way to get out of this very difficult position.
    A position most guys wouldn't mind being in.
    I'll guess that two girls are bi while the other one is straight ???!!!

    I think it depends on your stage of life. During my studies, I always shared a flat. But once I started working I wanted have time for myself when coming home.

    living alone was the worst idea ever. It really fucked me up big time to live alone in a new city. I worked so hard to improve my social skills and make a good social circle in my old city and living alon in a new city made me start from the beginning.
