I was out at the Gaslamp District last Saturday night and have to say I was kind of disappointed. A lot of the bars were nearly empty and none were playing any really good music. Had fun anyway with a work friend and this Russian guy I met on another pua forum. I opened a few girls but most were disqualified pretty quickly. One was pretty cool but her friend CBd. Thinking I'll go to PB this Saturday night and see how it is there.

PB is pretty cool as long as you can deal with the college crowd. I've had fun at Typhoon's, PB Bar and Grill, Moondoggies and Miller's Field. I'd go more often but I live in North Park and taking a cab costs too much $$$ and parking there overnight is stupid unless I know I can crash at somebody's place which isn't always certain.

    Hey guys!

Need some more help. Arrival date is 12 days from now. Still haven't got a place to stay.

Don't know a single person, so I'm only reading ads (specifically shared apartments in Pacific Beach) on Craigslist, but no results so far - on the e-mails I've sent, that is.

All my e-mails are relatively short and casual, and I'm always inviting for people to Skype or check me out on Facebook or whatever. Gonna have to keep trying of course, but I suspect that international students might not be as wanted as permanent San Diegans. Or just that every ad gets bombarded e-mails.

So any tips on how to seal a deal? I would really like to know where I'm going when I arrive. But in worst case, I'll have to move in to a hostal for a few days while searching. All alone. Haha. Any cool hostals in the PB area?

I just moved to SD a week ago and faced a similar issue. I lived in NYC and Miami before this, where you never had to worry about where to live. In NYC every neighborhood for the most part is fun and has tons of places to go out, and there were beautiful people everywhere. And in Miami, you either lived downtown or the beach, and either way, you were bombarded by 9s and 10s everywhere you looked. Simple.

SD is different. It's really spread out, quieter, with lots of different pockets, and there is no one place where everybody goes. So I understand your dilemma.

I can also tell you first hand that the number of good looking girls here is much lower than Miami and NYC for sure.

I ended up getting a place near PB (Avalon Mission Bay) right across from Bay Pointe. PB is OK, but unless you have incredible beach day game (I don't), it's going to be tough to pick up all the blonde beachy girls that are in packs of 2-10 during the day time. At nighttime, it's a dive bar scene with lots of rowdy drunk college kids--which you may be into at this stage of your life. I came here to work as a doctor so I'm going to be moving in a month to another neighborhood.

Gaslamp is OK but coming from NYC it's a bit disappointing. Tons of girls running around but again very few hotties, comparatively.

In any case I'm new here, so if anyone wants to hang out, hit me up!
